Liposuction / Liposculpting - Poll and serious discussion
Assuming you could get either of these procedures, and it didn't cost you anything, would you do it? The main reason why I think I wouldn't is I'd be afraid of getting weird fat lumps or having it somehow be detrimental to a flawless physique down the line.
Further, does anyone know if you can get away with these procedures if you're not fat at all but just have 10 lbs or so of odd fat around your abdominals/lovehandles?
-These procedures usually take about 10 lbs of fat off your body
-Recovery time is now as quick as a few days up to a week

If it were free and you lose 10lbs 'pure' bodyfat, why not do it?

Never, to me I just wouldnt feel like i had accomplished anything by getting ripped by cheating. Yes, you would look good, but i would feel guilty and like to challenge myself to be the best i can be naturally.

I would never in a lifetime pay for it. But for free? Most likely. However, I don't think me losing 30 lbs of pure bodyfat is worth nasty scars (if there is any). If no scars? then obviously.

Well, I've never even been a few pounds overweight so my opinion is from a very narrow perspective since I don't really know what it feels like. To me though, it's exactly the same as injecting synthol into your muscles to make them LOOK bigger, it isn't really YOU doing the work.
I use supplements pretty liberally, but they are just that, supplements. You still need to put in the hours of exercise and hard work to achieve what you aspire to achieve. And finally, I think the journey of improving yourself through your own hard work and dedication will be worth much more than ten pounds of automatic fat loss.

Yes because I am superficial and I have been struggling with the fat on my sides forever.

No.
1) I've heard the fat shows up elsewhere
2) I'm concerned about visceral fat, not subcutaneous.
3) I really don't need / want any encouragement to be lazy

If my understanding of fat cells is correct, (which according to a lot of research I have done, it is) I would definitely do it for free. I was 120 lbs. over weight. 10 lbs. means nothing when you are that large. I am down 75 lbs., and have a ways left to go. My understanding of fat cells though, are that once you have them, the cells themselves never actually go away. They simply deflate and remain empty waiting to be filled again if the need arises. So, after losing a ton of weight, you would have a lot of empty fat cells that you could eliminate with a procedure such as this. It takes more energy to regenerate the cells, then to refill the existing cells, making it a little harder to put the weight back on. (Like I said, I may have this wrong, but this is my understanding of fat cells.) So, yes I would if I could. It is not cheating when you have already lost 100+ pounds and are simply trying to get yourself back to what your original starting point would have been. (Hope that makes sense.) I may even pay to have it done when I get down to my goal weight. Got a lot more research and time to go before I worry about it though. Please, if I am wrong feel free to correct me. (Without being a dick. lol)

I wouldn't based on my friends experience. He said it felt like he was hit by a bus and it was BY FAR the worst plastic surgery he's every had..(he's had a lot lol)..also, I'd fear that it could end up not looking right

I would never consider liposuction. the scars and having the excess skin along with being stuck in bed for weeks while you wait to recover? no thanks!
If it was free or even super cheap like under $200 for a large portion of your body I would look into mesotherapy or lipodissolve though! It seems like no matter how hard I work and how healthy I eat, I can never get rid of some of those fat pockets!!

I would never have any surgical procedure unless necessary for me to live. Im deathly afraid of MERCA, not to mention all the pain, and many ways for the doctors to mess up and mess up your life forever.
I rather do it the good ol' fashioned way

I think I'd go for the liposculpting AFTER I lost the majority of my weight. It's my understanding that there is a physician somewhere on the east coast (going off memory here) who only does "liposculpting" on people who are already in great shape and in excellent health. Essentially, for people having a hell of a time getting the love handles off, etc, that's what he does.
Cheating? probably.
