New bar came today. I love it!!!

Took forever (2 weeks +) to get but I really love this bar.

I got it from mecantilla instead of Hampton directly. That was probably the reason for the delay.

Nice quality and worth keeping my 1 tree of standard plates for.Well made and nice angle on the grips. I am totally happy with it.

I hope it works out for you. I would be a little concerned about the longevity of the solid urethane handles, but maybe I'm just getting old enough to be old fashioned about solid steel lifting bars. You're 4 years my elder, but maybe you've adapted to the times.

Just curious why you got the standard version. I have the same bar with Olympic sleeves.

What do they mean by solid urethane? Mine has rubber grips over the straight handles and the angled ones are rubber too, but I didn't realize they were solid rubber. May seem like a stupid question, just curious.

I have had problems with the rubber grips on the straight handles slipping. I took them off, taped them with golf grip tape and put the grips back on. No troubles since.

That's a great bar. I want one. Nice pickup. The Urethane grip is a sleeve over a steel bar, so I'm not sure why it is described as "solid urethane grip"...

One advice, though and it's too late for you but not too late for others... you should never use Mercantila to order Hampton Equipment. They suck and the delay is intolerable and they ship the wrong things and they don't call back and they are stupid. Use another site instead, or buy in person if you have a Gym Source around.

I actually thought it was going to an olympic version and I offered all my standard weights to my BIL the night before. He didn't want them so I kinda lucked out when the bar came and I still had them. I would have preferred
an olympic style.Where did you find yours?

I got lucky on a bunch of stuff I bought last year. Guy had bought really nice stuff including a powertec benchpress, 300 lbs of Ivanko plates, and Hampton rubber gripped lat/cable attachments. Included was the Hampton tri bar there like yours.
