Walt called Walt Jr "Jesse" during their convo, I think a lot of people missed that including me.

best episode so far...it was basically the first one that didn't keep "leading up" to something
just some points id like to make...
- killing the cartel is such a big step forward in the sense that I feel there will be more time to utilize with Hank, Jesse/Walt situation, and getting back to cooking
- Most of the episodes this season were about the cartel interfering with Gus's business. In other words Gus finally took vengeance against the guy who killed his "brother."
- I also love how the head of the cartel died in the same exact spot as Gus's "brother", it was only fitting that Gus would end it at that location.
- Jesse's role when he was in the lab was so alpha in the way that he set all the guys working in that lab inn their places, especially that chemist who thought he was the shiit
- even though they have a whole lot of other shiit to worry about, I hope they fill Walt in on what was going on and will begin to include him in on their business, since essentially Walt is the main cook.
- It makes you wonder what Gus will do after he witnessed Jesse cook 96% pure blue meth, because Jesse can cook it too(Oo_____oO) **G37 Crew**

No, I mean I don't think Gus did anything for the good of Jesse. He did it for revenge and to get the cartel off his back. They had the entire cook video-taped from every angle, they know everything Jesse does.
Before Mike gets shot, he opens the door and takes cover behind it and raises the gun at Jesse's back.

Interesting episode, I'm eager to see where they are going with this.
I knew the liquor was poisoned as soon as I saw it, it was foreshadowed by Mike saying to Jesse "either we all get out or none of us get out" and they couldn't shoot their way out of there as there were too many guys.
Gus is phucking bad ass. "Fill you pockets and leave in peace. Or fight me and die!".
I'm just not sure what this will mean for Walt. He's expendable now, but he is the main character so I don't see him being killed off. I'm wondering how they will shift the focus back to him and how he's going to get the power back. He actually seems pretty pathetic to me.
The only thing that seems off about this show and in reality is Gus's lack of protection. Sure he has Mike and a few other guys but for the most part if somebody really wanted to assassinate him they could. I guess it would be suspicious for his public image though if he were to walk around with bodyguards all the time.
For a while I was thinking Junior might go to Hank after Walt called him "Jesse" and tell him that his dad got into a fight likely with Jesse, since Walt Jr always seems to go to Hank when he can't talk to his mom.

Just saw this on the Reddit - "Did anyone else notice the "8" theme in this episode?"
http://www.reddit.com/r/breakingbad/..._this_episode/
Edit - also didn't think about the fact that they shot video of Jesse cooking. In the preview for next week, it shows that the DEA knows something big happened in Mexico. Is it possible that they find the tape?Last edited by Magnetbox; 09-19-2011 at 03:04 PM.

Gus is 12 steps ahead of everyone else in the show. That's why he only needs a few guys, he has no vices, he's very strict, look at his body, he's an old man and he's in better shape than half the misc. He's too careful, to get taken out.
Walt is never going to be expendable, Gus has too much money in that lab to get rid of Walt, like Walt has said before, cooking is one thing, but being able to tweak the formula depending on things like the weather, only he can do that. Only he knows the science behind the cooking.
Jesse is being used by Gus to keep Walt in line. At the same time, he's keeping Jesse out out of trouble, plus Mike has taken a liking to Jesse, who has bailed Mike out more than once. So Jesse won't get taken out either, and Mike didn't take cover behind the door to shoot Jesse, he opened the door and got shot, and then took cover. When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

yea i agree seems like the most logical answer.
and honestly, i kind of figured this during season 3 when walt committed murder for jesse if everyone remembers that? this entire season im thinking wtf walt, i thought u literally loved this kid like a son. and now i realize that he does, he's just been dealing with **** of late.

btw guys i'd like to point out jese cooked 96% meth and if everyone remembers gale cooked that same number. gale said "heisenberg" cooked 99% and the 3% gulf was HUGE. so jesse is not a replacement for walt because walt cooks 99% pure meth
i figured the writers did that on purpose to show that the subtle knowledge of chemistry still makes walt the master chef.
