Can you grill frozen chicken on Foreman Grill?

I usually bake my chicken breasts, but am thinking about getting a Foreman grill. I usually get the prefrozen chicken breasts in bulk at Costco and was wondering if I could grill them on the Foreman grill or do I need to defrost them first?

Also, does it taste any better grilling them as opposed to baking them?

More then likely you might need to defrost them....I prefer grilled over baked....but love both.

I had bad luck with frozen breasts on my foreman. The outside got way overcooked and it was still pink in the middle.

no dude you can totally grill frozen chicken on a foreman, i love it and do it everyday. best of all it takes at most 10 minutes, the outside does get a lil crispy but not too bad, still good. i'd recommend the tenderloins over the breasts cuz those take even less time to cook and the inside cooks faster so you dont have the outside crispy and the inside soft problem but breasts can be cooked just fine too when still frozen.

If you don't have a microwave, you can put them into a ziplock bag then submerge in hot water for a few mins.

So defrost them in the microwave, then grill? I always thought it wasn't a good idea to defrost that way, but instead defrost them overnight in room temp..but then again, I never needed to defrost anything and I am not much of a cook..lol

I do it everyday. outside gets really crispy so I take a knife and carefully cut the skin off when it's done.

Uh... I make 2x chicken every night on my George Foreman.... Simple, easy, and tastes YUMMY.

You gotta leave them overnight in room temp or 1 full day in the fridge to defrost and you are golden.

My cousin has a George foreman and it's terrible, it like burns the chicken. The one I got is sweet and makes it tender inside and out.

    edit:
I cook 5 minutes on both sides.

just throw em on frozen. Flip it over after like 5-7 minutes and stab a few holes in it. I've been doing this for a year with no problems because crispy skin, which you can cut off easily.

How hard is it to take them out in the morning before you leave for work/school? Or put in a tupperware the night before to defrost in the fridge?

In a ziploc bag into luke warm water also works, and defrosts alot faster....

Defrosting in the microwave makes stuff taste like Poo....

I personally prefer to cook in the oven mind you, I find the foreman dry's stuff out, by the time it cooks through, the chicken is dryer than a piece of cardboard...I gave my foreman away, its either the BBQ, or into a nice 350 oven for 20-30 min....

You can cook a frozen chicken breast on the Foreman provided it's not too thick. The ideal thickness would be 1/2 to 3/4 inches. If the frozen breast is too bulky and uneven, it will take forever to cook all the way through. Then the top and bottom will be overdone.

Don't let chicken defrost for hours at room temperature. There's too much of a chance for bacteria to grow and taint the meat. It's best to let the breast defrost in the fridge overnight.

Try lining your Foreman with non-stick foil or parchment paper. The meat will cook up juicier with less cleanup.

I've found that if you turn the heat down a notch and cook the chicken reeeaaal slow it grills up nice and juicy.
Also marinating the chicken really helps. I've never grilled a frozen piece of chicken in my life. But I'm big into marinating it for at least an hour or so.
But like people have said...put it in a baggy and sit it in some lukewarm water and it will be defrosted in 10 minutes...and grill much quicker and juicier. So why not defrost it?

yeah I've done cooked frozen meat on the grill before.

it just takes much longer but grilling is so much better than baking and a lot quicker. just stick a fork in it before you eat it just to make sure it's done

I use my grill every day

I can Google anything, and I always end up here. Good thread, and my chicken as killer last night cooked from frozen in the George Foreman. One teaspoon of basil pesto on each breast on top of some brown rice and broccoli - killer post workout meal!

The forman works really well for me with the predue chicken from costco since it is so thin. I put it on frozen and put some of the kicken chicken spice on as well which is also from costco. set the timer for about 6 min 30 seconds and it is done.
