Best pre-workout meal for AM workout

I wake up about 7:40am and the first thing I do is workout. I don't have the time to eat something and then wait 30 mins or an hour before working out really. So what is the best pre-workout meal (or fastest acting meal) for when I weight train but have no time to digest a pre-workout meal really?

I've been weight lifting on an empty stomach thus far. In Keto I always thought I would just use up some more fat for my lifts but I've seen different views on whether a pre-workout meal is needed.

Are any of the following good for this type of get-up-and-workout situation? Or do I even need a pre-workout meal at all?
    1) Hard-bolied egg
    2) Whey protein shake
    3) Whey protein + Flaxseed oil
    4) Some kind of oil (hey it's keto, is this all I need?)

    Thanks

There is no excuse for not being able to make something to eat. Eggs take minutes to make and eat.
    Like Brutis...you can do dis.

Thanks for the info but I don't think you really answered my question. I'm asking which pre-workout meal is "best" for eating and then "immediately" working out. So I take it your vote is for eggs. I already have hard-boiled eggs in the fridge, I don't even need to make them in the morning...I can just eat them. I also have whey protein I can drink, oils I can drink, etc.

I'm trying to figure out which of the options I listed are "best" for eating and then immediately working out.

Why are eggs better to eat as opposed to whey protein + flaxseed oil? Or just oil for that matter?

Since being in ketosis completely changes how the body operates it seems, I have no clue how ketosis changes the way I should be setting up for working out.

Yeah, I love how certain people on this forum love being know it alls and acting like cause they have lots of experience with Keto that gives them a right to make useless rude comments.

Personally, I think you're gonna just have to experiment. I do better getting in protein shake with just a few carbs in it pre workout cause I don't like lifting on a full stomach but I have worked out on just some cheese and peanut butter (amazing tasting) and done well.
Lost over 100 pounds. Not too bad.

A popular meal is a black coffee with coconut oil melted into it. The CO gives quick energy, so does the coffee.

Very dark chocolate (I like 99%) is supposed to be a NO amplifier, but don't try it if you are prone to puking. Coffee and 99% choclate taste utterly disgusting if you are puking.
    65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs = keto.

I would say try the eggs. I haven't personally had any problems working out 30minutes to an hour after.

Also you could always try some natty peanutbutter beforehand, but as your first meal I'd think the eggs make a better choice.

I would try a whey shake with peanut butter, olive oil , and flax meal. Takes a total of 1 minute to make and tastes good. Fast protein for your muscles and to stop catabolism from overnight, fast for energy, flax meal for fiber....and the peanut butter for all 3 but mostly TASTE!

    Thanks for all the feedback!!

So it seems a good combination of protein and fat (oils etc) is what I'm looking for in a pre-workout meal on Keto.

I used to eat a banana for a pre-workout meal. Yeah can't do that here on Keto so I'm just trying to figure out the needed components.

I think I'll try the eggs and see how that goes. If my body isn't liking that I'll try the protein shake with some flax :-)

    Thanks again!!

Eggs are essentially a perfect food witha good nutrient profile and digest really easy. Best for working out. Couple eggs and you should be good to go.

whey can upset an empty stomach in the morning and give you a tummy ache.

If eggs take to long to cook for you (lol) make some hard boiled eggs the night before or something.

Get some bacon or precooked meat like ham and just pop it in the microwave.... theres plenty of ways to eat quick.
