Smell of fish in urine?

So i recently started a diet and i have been eating alot of tuna and i realized when i take a piss my pee would smell like fish, is this normal?

if not is it nececarily a bad thing?

I don't know if its normal or not but the same thing happens to me if i don't drink enough water. When i do no problems. Try drinking more water and see if that helps.

It' not the tuna.

That smell is actually a sign of ketosis, your body burning fat... and a lot of it.

Is your urine dis-coloured? If so, I would suggest the same as the other people have which is to drink LOTS more water.

are you running on very few carbs with this diet?

Ive done over 2 months of keto and ate plenty of tuna/salmon/halibut and never once smelled fish in my piss, don't make an earnest effort to smell my piss either, but I do use ketostix and test the urine often, never had a waft of fish from the piss...perhaps its a placebo effect or the whole house just stinks of fish after you cook it, like always

no i've got a good amount of carbs in. i hope its ketosis xD.

im drinking alot of water like 3 or 4 liters a day. but ill bump it up to a gallon it coudlnt hurt.

trust me, if your body is cranking through fat and producing more ketones than it can utilize for energy, you'll be able to smell it quite easily when you piss... it's foul, but a good signal.

And it can happen regardless of carb intake because it's related to how much fat your body is breaking down.

hell no, i still use baby powder and i have my own soap bar for bob. i mean my junk. im cirsumsized so its not like its too hard to clean it.

and im a virgin.

i bought some and ive been testing now is it good to be in the mid to moderate range

i didnt have any in there the first time i tested but i tested tonight and the collor was somwere btween moderate and mild

When i'm in ketosis my piss smells of fish and raw chicken!!! smells normal when i'm eating carbs.
