I don't watch serial television with commercials but I do sometimes buy entire seasons after the fact. I also sometimes watch sporting events (online).

Um, does anyone else see the absolute irony in using YOUTUBE to convince people that TV "information" is bad?

The only difference between the two is that it takes a hell of a lot less money to post garbage on YouTube than on a broadcast/cable station

The difference is that the vast majority of people know youtube and the rest of the net is going to have a some bull**** put on there by individuals with ulterior motives(disinformation, propaganda, etc) or just plain dumb uninformed misinformation.

However, many more people naively trust their mainstream networks, and especially their mainstream news. Almost the entirety of the mainstream media, and the entirety of the big name mainstream media, exists primarily for the purpose of mass mind control/propaganda. Making a profit is only a distant second to that.

What annoys me more than anything is how brainwashed people are by Obama, it's like he's a cult leader or something, they act like he's the second coming of Jesus. When our economy tanks even further as a result of this horrendous stimulus package, I'll be happy to say that I'm one of the few American's that didn't buy into all this b.s.

Lol awesome clip. Besides Capitals Hockey, which I consider a real and essential sporting event (except for the commercials, and we have good announcers) I watch about 2 hours of TV a week, mostly Discovery, NatGeo, sometimes checking up on the news. The best shows involve actual events, not people acting. Like Strongman, etc. Elks running around on NatGeo, etc.

I mute all commercials and despise them. Except Southwest...

The funny thing is I have 4 televisions. Because if I wanna watch something, I want to watch it where I am.

FWIW I spend about 14 hours a week reading books and basically read and research all day at work for a job.

But my view of TV in general is about as dim, or even more dim than the man in the clip. You don't have enough time to hear my complete views on the dulling effects of TV.

The difference between TV and mainstream media compared to the internet is this:

TV is a completely dominated brainwashing medium used for propaganda purposes by the powers that be. Controlled by a select few jews / government via operation mockingbird.

The internet is a true free market. Information and news is bid for, the information that is important rises to the top. There are millions of sources of information. Instead of having your information chosen for you by a select few, the information is bid for and disseminated in true free market fashion amongst millions of your peers and millions of sources of news.

The internet has made these old brainwashing mediums obsolete. No one buys into the government propaganda anymore. Mainstream media is dying. Thats why the government is trying to destroy the internet.

TV provides just the mainstream views of society.

Youtube provides the more 'underground' views that would otherwise not be accessible to the average person.

It's up to the end user to wade through the bull**** to figure out what information is good and what is not. Youtube provides something that TV does not.

Without the internet I would not be the person I am today.

Youtube is a freemarket, the video's are bid upon just like a stock market, those that with value rise and those sources gain legitimacy. If a video is quality / interesting it rises to the top, just as a good company appreciates in value through the market forces of supply and demand, its no different on the internet, if it is lie or misinformation than the community will react in kind and the video / news source will get low ratings and the news source loses credibility.

What do you think will provide the best dissemination of information? 6 corporations with huge corporate and government interest of the free market of the internet with its millions of users. The internet is the perfect example of a free market.

Look at it from a different angle. Yes, Youtube is search based, and any crazy can find something that agrees with their crackpot ideas.

WTC was a hoax? Youtube.

Goblins exist? Youtube.

The boogeyman is real? Youtube.

Shampoo is evil? Youtube.

You can live on nothing but air? Youtube.

Perhaps, instead of users having to "to evaluate what he is seeing more closely", the user is instead merely seeking out ideas that conform to their insanity to the exclusion of existing viewpoints....
