    Pushups and Situps Nightly

What is everyone's opinions on doing pushups and situps every night. Will it result in overtraining and a loss of strength/power or help you in your strength gains??
Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

It couldn't hurt if you're eating right. But how soon before you go to sleep are you doing it? Are you doing this in addition to a strength routine? If so how long after your workout are you doing this?

About any hour before bed, and 4-5 hours after lifting. The lifting program I'm doing is a football prep one. I'm thinking like 10 sets of 5 "explosive pushups" such as the clap ones, and then an ab workout

depends on how many, how often, etc.

you aren't going to put on loads of muscle but strength in the upper body and core are going to be seen esp with a proper diet as mentioned. throwing in pull ups wouldn't hurt. i personally do push ups, situps, pull ups 3x a week regardless of my current lifting routine.

Do your push ups, situps, pull ups before or after lifting? how much time in between do you give to do one or the other?
