Ok shake first thing in the morning? (cutting)

Im cutting and in the AM I always start with a protein shake made of 1/2 cup of oats, forzen berries, a banana (if i have some), milk and a scoop of protein. After this shake I find it hard to get anything solid into me cause it fills me up pretty good. Would this be ok for the morning if cutting? I know breakfast is the most important meal and only having a shake and no solid food makes me nervous a bit.

as long as it fits into your macros, this will not hinder your progress. I think whey early morning is great because of it being fast digesting and your body hasnt had anything for a while to eat.

that's pretty much what I have every morning rather on a cut or a bulk. As long as it fit's into your daily macros you will be fine.

Plus breakfast is a good meal. It should be one of your bigger calorie meals of the day. Fuel for all day! Drink and eat up wether your cutting or bulking

my breakfast 95% of the time is 2 scoops whey protein with a whole wheat english muffin and 1tbs of nat. pb.

your fine with that shake just as long as it fits what you are doing for the day.

You want to get your cals in 1st thing, that shake is fine on the go. Oats is your most important ingrediant here but as someone pointed out whey is fast digesting.

Now I'm consdering some kind of oat/whey/peanut butter flapjack thing for breakfast.

    EDIT: What's an English muffin?

It is sounds like a solid shake, but in the end it is all personal preference. You are free to eat whatever you want in the morning as long as it fits into your macros at the end of the day. This gives you quite a bit of freedom - my personal favorite breakfast is a turkey/low fat cheese omelet with a whole wheat pancake. Is this better for me than a shake? Not necessarily, but I enjoy it more and it fulfills the same purpose. You may want to consider adding a handful of nuts or tablespoon of peanut butter to it, unless you are certain your fat needs are met through meals later in the day.

thats a good morning meal but it will take too long to get where it needs to go. that why most people will have a shake first thing then eat a whole food breakfast.

I know breakfast is the most important meal and only having a shake and no solid food makes me nervous a bit.
Whether a food is liquid or solid makes no difference. It doesn't matter whether you eat a banana whole, or blend it into a smoothie and drink it. A banana is a banana.

and ya, shakes are good. if you have time though, i'd go for some eggs. the shake you've got is ok, but i also agree with part of what gekko is saying. shooting up insulin in the morning might not be the best idea; sugar from fruit. however, slow digesting carbs are another story.

no i know quite a bit about nutrition. would u believe me if i told u the Gi for most whole wheat bread is higher than table sugar? That a higher level of carbohydrate intake will inhibit fat loss?
