We call them a "ute" over here, mainly bought it as it will be good for work purposes and can fit me dirt bike in the back.
Wasnt cheap tho, car + taxes + insurance was $19500AUD

the first thing i would recommend is if it is a 4 speed, you buy new diff gears.

Tis a 04 BA, 16k for the car which was a pretty good price for whats going around atm, also bought it from a dealer so has 1year roadside assist and 1 year warranty.

Ouch, I suppose that's probably to be expected coming from a dealership, it's just that I've seen a few of that sort of vintage going for $13,500-$14,500. That comprehensive insurance before your 25 is just a killer though (which is why I'm sticking to cheaper cars and 3rd party insurance until then).
