    eating candy

    hey bros how much junk food do u eat every week? i might eat like 10 starbursts every 3 days but thats about it, plus i chew gum.

    If i dont eat some candy in like a day, i start to shake and get sick. Is that diabetes or diabetes 2 or something? hahaha, i dunno, but i eat quite a bit because of it.

    im not gonna eat so much candy anymore its full of sh*t and thee isnt any protein in it. and i heard that chewing gum tricks your stomach into thinking its eating, so it releases this gastric acid which eats away at your insides.

    Lots of gum is high is sugar and can cause insulin spikes which is a big no no if you want to gain. I'd lose the gum or switch to sugar-free

    lol i dont eat junk food but I dont see why you guys are complaining. Eating candy has nothign to do with BBing, you can eat it as much as you want and it'll have zero effect on your BBing, even though I don't eat much candy.

    And insulin spikes are anabolic.

    How is it that candy has ZERO effect on bodybuilding??? Candy EQUALS sugar...and sugar is definetly not good for bodybuilding. It easily turns to fat and is basically empty calories. For sure, a bit of candy is not going to hurt you too much but GMAV, you can't say that it has ZERO effect on bodybuilding.

    rofl your a moron. Candy = instant boost of energy which is followed by a crash which = insulin spike. That is a big problem if you bb, means more fat storage and less muscle built. For someone who just wrote an article on insulin you should know the basics. lol Plus candy is empty calories.

    I eat candy or as we call them sweets. So what your going to put on a very little bit of fat once in a while when you treat you self that dont mean you aint building muscle (as long as u get ur protien). Besides if you have enough muscle to burn off the calories and you do enough cardio you have nothing to worry about .

    the only junk food i eat now is oreo cookies- between 3-6 a day... occasionaly, like once every 2 months, i will just go nuts and eat junk food all day, like that time i ate nothing but chilli, root beer, and cherry chocolate ice cream ....

    when i first started bb'ing, i was eating just about every junk food possible...then, i started saying to myself "what the hell are you thinking? all this **** your eating will only make you have to do more cardio...is it worth it? 1 hour of cardio for that little chocolate bar?" after i put things in that perspective, i quickly cut down...now i cant even eat a chocolate bar without feeling intensely guilty

    and an insulin spike is a good thing as a post-workout effect also in conjunction with creatine.

    Since insulin is an extremely anabolic compound you dont want to have a spike in it (besides post workout) you want to keep your insulin levels high all day by eating complex carbs. It does effect muscle gain. Why the **** do you think people shoot slin into their body to begin with?

    I eat a lot of junkfood. Im a hardgainer, and this is just a good way to get some calories. As an ectomorph you have to fight for every pound.

    You guys have to understand that a candybar won't add fat.. Especially if you are young, with high metabolism. Granted, if you eat them day in and day out, you will gain fat, but you will not get fat from eating them once in awhile..
    So don't deprive yourself of the treats of life, just get good eating habits and you should be fine.
