So I just read this article...
http://www.mindandmuscle.net/article...aximum_fatloss
about the maximum calorie deficit for fat loss and how as you get leaner, the smaller your deficit in your diet must be to preserve LBM and lose fat only.
but at the end Lyle talks about how in order to increase fat loss or keep it steady at the end as you get leaner, rather than reduce calories one should exercise more, which is where i am confused.
okay so Lyle says the maximum number is somewhere around 31 x fat mass, so say I have 15lbs of fat, so the maximum dietary deficit i can have for pure fat loss is 465. as i get leaner to about 132bs of fat, that number decreases to 372, meaning my dietary deficit cannot be greater than that unless I want to loose LBM as well.
But say my dietary deficit is -372cals from matienence, and I run an extra 3 miles to burn 300 more calories....will that increase my fat loss or LBM loss with a bigger deficit even though it is created through exercise and not diet...
I guess I'm asking if this maximum deficit includes calories burned durning exercise or simply how much you cut back in your diet...

Link isn't working, could you find some way to re-post it so it works? It's showing up with the "..." in the middle when I right click on it and go to properties to copy the link as well.
