rheumatoid arthritis

I was wondering if anybody here has any ideas on how to manage rm with diet and exercise. My dad is 55 and has extreme rm he gets infusions every 5 weeks and is up to six vials. Hes also on unlimited perkasets. His doctor just keeps upping his pain meds. So my question is, are there specific foods and exercises for this problem or is just general diet and exercise? Is there specific supplements or herbs he should take? Any info would be helpful.

i'm kinda in the same boat.People ask me how can you work out,but the funny thing is yea i hurt when i work out ,but i hurt on my terms,my way.Percocets are wonderful and not so wonderful.I would suggest he start lifting as permanent therapy, then start backing down his pain dosages.i'm doing intermetent therapy 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off pain meds.It stops the build up of dosing need to quell pain.there are pain diets out there i suggest he look them up too....
