    Not taking Whey Protein

When I take whey , I sweat like crazy doing nothing. So I stopped taking it and I don't sweat nearly as much. I replaced it with casein about a month ago.

My question : Can I maintain the muscle mass I gained taking whey without whey? I've upped my calorie intake with natural high protein food and I think that should be enough.

There's some people that say it can raise estrogen a teeny tiny bit. But high estrogen? No.

A typical serving of whey protein has about 200cals/24g protein. You can get the same/less calories from something like tuna or chicken, with more protein.

Whey protein has always made me ill.

It contains phytoestrogens, so... yes, he is still correct.

Because of the phytoestrogen content, some studies, but not all, have suggested that there is an inverse correlation between soybean ingestion and testosterone in men. For this reason, they may protect against the development of prostate cancer.

A theoretical decrease in the risk of prostate cancer should, however, be weighed against the possible side-effects of decreased testosterone, which are still unclear. The popular fear that soybeans might cause reduced libido and even feminine characteristics in men has not been indicated by any study; the popularity of the notion seems to be based on the simplistic misapprehension that estrogen and testosterone have a simple, inverse relationship in sexual hormone systems and sex-related behaviour.Their interplay is very complicated and largely still unknown.

A study published in April 2008 concluded that soy food intake has an inverse association with sperm concentration in fertility-deficient men. The same study found that soy intake does not affect sperm motility, morphology or ejaculate volume.

This is an exaggeration. Yes it does contain isoflavones which exert estrogenic activity but the amount is not "high" [compared to what - define it please] and their strength is only a mere fraction of the real estrogenic compounds you have floating around in you. And the amount depends upon the amount consumed and the quality of the protein.

And what happens when these weaker compounds compete and occupy estrogren receptors normally occupied by the stronger real estrogenic compounds???

I'm not a soy supporter, but this brainless parroting is silly.

It's a semantical argument. Simple as that. "High" is a matter of perspective and frame of reference. Compared to flax? Compared to your shampoo? High would also be indicative of practical significance under all consumption levels which is clearly not the case.
