Couple Questions
Ok, I have a couple questions. First of all...
Lets say part of my split looks something like this (just as an example)...
Mon: Chest
Tues: Legs/Abs
Wed: Back/Bis
Thur: Delts/Tris/Forearms/Traps
Would it be beneficial for me to use Fri, Sat, or Sun, or maybe one night in the middle of the week to do somewhat of a total body workout? I haven't started doing this yet but I thought it would be something I could incorporate just to keep my routine fresh and keep my body guessing. I could loosely follow the split I have listed here, then on Friday do squats, dumbbell bench, seated dumbbell curls, seated rows, and pull ups (just an example routine).
I have another question. I find that often times on chest days and back days, my arms feel so exhausted from being used so heavily in support of my chest and back routines that I can't really give them a good dedicated workout. So a chest/tri or back/bi split proves to be very difficult to do because I feel the second muscle group isn't getting the full, maximum workout it deserves after working my chest/back. Is this a good reason to avoid these type of splits, or do I have it all wrong?
I guess what it all comes down to, I'm trying to find a split that gives each muscle group adequate rest allowing for the most efficient and effective workout for each muscle group and I'm also looking for a split that is going to keep my body guessing.
