Humping Barbells: unrated and uncut
Previous journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=108148851
Start date:
Saturday, February 21st, 2009.
Goals:
To get increase power of the posterior chain, size of legs, and overall tone of body.
How It?s going to happen:
I?m thinking a 3-4 day split.
Day 1- Agility
3 working sets.
Snatch (or a supp. lift of it)
Box jumps (to failure)
Day 2- Determination
5 working sets
Heavy leg press
Heavy squat
Romanian Deadlift
Stair Climber(to failure)
Day 3- Precision
3 working sets
Clean&Jerk (or a supp. lift of it)
Kick boxing.
Day 4- Dysfunctional
8 working sets
45* Sled Leg Press
Hack Squat Leg Press
Leg ext/leg curl superset
Glute abductor machine
Diet:
I?ve seriously cut back on calories, I?ll be making myself eat more food, but will probably be favoring 2-3 days in between workouts instead of stuffing my face like I used to. My diet is completely natural. No soda no preservatives, everything and everything except the chocolate is cooked at home. It?s always a meat/veggie/pasta dish high in polyunsaturated fats. The only source of empty carbs would be the kool-aid mix I make to keep myself hydrated because I hate water.
Suggestions welcomed.

No suggestions. You're a technician and obviously have solid knowledge of what you're doing. Best wishes!
I'll be reading.

Hrmm.
I'm still thinking about my olympic lifts... what I could do differently on them.
Possibly just making my warmup for each session bar drills?

waaat?
**** happened this weekend. i got the gym membership yesterday but work kept me an extra few hours and then i had an all nighter to pull.
so... tonight. finally. I'm really anxious about going back to the gym, just scared of what it'll do to my body, but if anything I can just stick to using the stair climber.. .god I'm so glad to be back at a gym that has one of those.

Determination #1
Squat
45x5
65x5
85x5
95x5
105x5
115x5
135x5
Weak, yes very weak. Point your fingers at me and make fun of me
Leg Press
x10
x10
x10
Kinda pointless to do these after squats. Will do these first next time.
So the biggest part about tonight is well, I just put on a hoodie and shorts and did what I needed to do. Now I'm chompin down on some pizza and sippin me some red wine.
My brother got a good workout in too, I spent over half my time just training him, spotting him, form checks, etc.
After last night's very depressing performance, I modified a couple things and came back feeling a lot more secure and confident tonight.
Friday is Precision

I need to catch up a bit on what you've been doing before I offer any specific advice, but one thing I always suggest is that if anyone is coming off of a layoff of any significant length (say longer than 2 weeks), that they ease into working out a bit gradually as it is possible to drive yourself to the point of strain (and/or injury) and maybe questioning why you're going somewhere just to induce pain and difficulty in moving around the next day...

More like half a week. Today was the first day where the soreness finally started dying down.

Precision
So I finally had a day off from work...
Clean-pull --->clean&jerk
45x3
65x3
75x3
85x3
95x1
95x1
95x1
I haven't done this in MONTHS, I was having some trouble exploding at the right spot on the second pull... but I think I did okay. 95 pounds was a bit of a struggle.
Power Clean ---> jerk ---> jerk ---> jerk
95x1
95x1
95x1
Hard. I did well on the last set, the first two were kinda crappy. Very hard
Power Clean ---> Front squat w/ 10 second pause at parallel
95x1
95x1
95x1
Whatever>.<
Box Jumps
10x @ 36 inches
5x @ 40 inches
3x @ 42 inches
3x @ 42 inches
Fun. Last set kicked my butt, I'm so glad they have an adjustable plyro platform.
God I'm so worn out... I know my traps are going to be soooo sore, ugh. And my triceps too... oh well.

You have to hold the bar as close to your body as possible which involves the triceps and lats.
What really did it was the jerks... christ. My body used to do this stuff easily

I'm back at the gym!
This time it's all cardio though, not much use blogging about it. I've gone vegan and live off cardio and sparring.
Lots of rice... and I'm working on getting rid of my addictions to ranch to lower my sodium levels and I'm making my own Italian Dressing too so I don't have to put any salt in it!
I'm able to pop out 5 miles now!
I got my hand bit by a cat and had to get stitches and then after that was healed I broke the index finger of the same hand, ONE DAY I'LL GET USE OF MY RIGHT HAND BACK!!!
