What motivates you?
I have been lacking alot on my diet this year and have deffinetly lost some motivation. What keeps you guys going and on track? Got any tricks?
I lost a fair bit last year so I'm not a complete noob, I just need some motivation to get back on track.

hmm. My son motivate me, my wife, myself, the need to be sexy and pleasing to my wife sight like she is to me. As a Man we are not that sexy unless we are fit, or you just have all the things your partner want. Deep down it has to be a personal thing.. It's a good selfish thought when it comes to fitness.

You want motivation but you seem to have desire, so the fire is still in there. Visualize yourself in your new body I know that can sound stupid sometimes but it works, and theres scientific data that visualization can aid you, it gives you confidence, you must see the bigger picture, until the image is burned into your sub conscious mind do you understand? Motivation comes and goes, however this is a lifestyle, you can start by not using the word "DIET", create a big goal, commit, know you will make it, visualizing gives you confidence and will help you from day to day and month to month, i know its not easy trust me, but it is damn worth it.....

This works for me, slowly losing excess weight and slowly getting noticed ... its worth the hard yards.
What also motivates me is looking in the mirror, then old photos, definitely take photos of yourself every couple of weeks as you lose weight, I didn't to start off with because I didn't like how I looked without a shirt on, but now that I have seen how far I have come I would like to have seen how far its been ... if you get where im coming from, progress pics are great motivation.
Just an hour ago I was looking back to photos of me at a mates bbq this time last year, back when I was ~95-98kg at the time (84kg now), thats motivation.

Many many MANY MANY things!
Start with myself:
Need to lower the blood pressure a little.
Need to lower the cholesterol level a little.
Then onto the rest:
Need to be healthy for my parents so can take care of them.
Need to be healthy for my friends so can hang out with them.
Need to be healthy for all the ladies in the world. They dug me
when I was 174 lbs. =-)
The best is to make those chicks who passed on me when I was
chub feel bad that they passed up on a nice guy who was chub
but is now hot and highly desirable.
I know, some of you will laugh, but hey, whatever floats my boat!!!

A picture of my fatness at the door. Everytime I leave my room I see where I don't want to be again.

"When you turn on the TV and come across a show about weight loss, you'll see a lot of crying, hugging, and syrupy-sweet one-liners about having a positive attitude.
Well, **** that. In the real world, successful people get pissed off.
Success story Chris Bartl describes his experience like this: "I didn't like the way I looked, the way I felt, or the way I was leading my life. I was fat and it pissed me off."
I find this to be fairly accurate.

Like others above, I think about women. I am miserable right now and I use that as motivation. That keeps me on my diet. I usually think about the pussy if I need to rage in the middle of a workout though.

Living a long and healthy life is what motivates me. And looking in the mirror and saying, "What the ****".

look at pictures online of what I want to be, and look at the progress I have made
Oh and seeing strength gains whenever I hit the gym is a big booster.
Curling 25s and looking over and seeing some guy curling 20s lol

My trainer motivates me because I know there's someone there who has expectations of me and wants me to succeed. If you don't want to get a trainer, find someone who will agree to check up on you and make sure you are doing what you need to do. The more supportive they are, the better.
And make this your motto: NO excuses!

Getting that feeling after leaving the gym. You feel great and want to do it again. When I'm at the gym seeing the people working hard around me motivates me. If someone gets on a piece of cardio next to me I want to out perform him/her. Just little things. Competition is my main thing that drives me. Sucks seeing some other guy bigger/better shape than me.

Always tell yourself you look like **** and you need to look better in order to score HB10's
Competition... I'm addicted to competition.
Example: If i'm running on the tredmil and someone next to me is running at a faster pace i'll bring it up to match them or a little faster and make sure he gasses out before I do. and If i gas out i'll remember what the other person did and will push myself to beat that number.
I'm odd.

To see really fat people and think I looked like that 8 months ago its horrifying, at the time I never thought of myself that way.
I also get motivated everytime I drop a waist size I bought a pair of 36" jeans the other day(I started in 58"s) that keeps me motivated for a few weeks its all about finding little changes that spur you on also I had veins in my biceps the other day(only while training biceps but its a start) that will keep me going for a month as well.
I try not to look at what I am chasing as that bothers me how far I have to go, there is a guy at the gym not overly lean but about 240lbs of muscle he looks phenomenal he is a total monster and that is my long long long term goal but the problem is looking at him pulls me back down to earth and makes me realise its a long journey and I've only took a few steps
