Spicy food...Speed up metabolism
I have heard eating spicy food speeds up your metabolism and de-toxifies the body. Does anyone have any supporting facts or is this an old wives tale?

Along with that, usually when I eat spicier foods I have a higher tendency of wanting to drink water- a lot of it. Haha =)

Good news!
Cool, I love hot food. Can we buy this in a supplement form as well?

I can't imagine them putting spiciness into a supplement. That's why they have things like thermogenic supps (hot-rox, lipo-6, etc.).

I beleive I have read that spicy foods do speed up the metabolism but barely... The amount of spicy food you would need to actually have a noticeable effect on the metabolism is a lot of spicy food i think.
Slayadox- I like curry chicken, chili, salsa, had a spicy hummus once that was good.

I was thinking maybe a pill with capsicum (sp) in it.

i dont think its much, pretty much every meal I eat is spicy so... but then I go for periods without it, nothing noticeable for sure...
definitely not like taking a stack, or even staying hydrated for that matter, it just brings your body temp up as far as I know.

There capped capsaicin products, and if body temp is indicative of metabolism , then it works.
