    Vitamin D : Calcium

I Live in Washington and get little to no sunlight around this time of year. I drink alot of Vitamin D whole milk, however i'm not sure whether or not there is enough vitamin D in the milk to aid in digestion for the full amount of Calcium. Im debating whether or not to begin taking a vitamin D supplement.

You would have to drink a ton of milk to get enough Vitamin D. I would recommend starting with 2000 iu/day and then maybe bumping it up to 4-5000 iu.

Good Idea though I would get a blood test every couple of months to monitor vit d levels. Make sure its d3.

No, need to debate you are most probably slightly or severely deficient (depending on which vitamin D blood levels we accept as "optimal" >32ng/ml or ~50ng/ml). I'd definitely get a vitamin D test to "prove" you are deficient and adjust intake according to the results.

2,000IU D3 with meals, and 400mg elemental magnesium at night. I don't take calcium b/c I drink enough milk and eat enough veggies I don't think I need to supp with that.
