Question Shoulders the day before chest, thoughts?

I am changing my split up to look like this:

monday - chest abs tris

tuesday - off

wednesday - off

thursday - shoulders/traps, biceps/forearms (this day will have shoulder press)

friday - Chest tris

saturday - Legs Shoulders Abs (this day will consist of shoulder raises)
sunday Back and bis

Any thoughts as to the thursday shoulder day hindering to my chest day on friday, or just about general overtraining? I'm 18 years old and just about 180 pounds, have been lifting for 11 months now.

Unless you are planning on doing this for a very short period of time I think you are going to screw up your shoulder joints from overuse. The split is very unbalanced with some bodyparts getting too much work and others getting too little.

My goal for the split is to work bis tris and chest twice a week. I was thinking this may look bad if my shoulder development is sub-par, so I was debating about a second shoulders day. I work at the military on wednesdays, where we do push ups/sit ups/lunges/wall sits/running so I need my leg day spaced away from that as well as my chest day. I was thinking about this split here if that one got bad comments:

Sunday shoulders/traps/bis
Monday chest/tris
Tuesday off
Wednesday off
Thursday back/bis
Friday chest/tris
Saturday legs

one shoulder day, two tris, two chest, two bis. I find all those muscles pretty small muscle groups. I don't think I would be overtraining if I was working those muscles that often, but I don't want to get injured.

The new split looks better. The key to specialisation lies in reducing how much work you do on the muscles you are not specialising in.
