Metabolism Advantage Plan

Anyone tried this or in the middle of it?

I'm tempted--I know of John Berardi's work, and respect him a great deal (and not just because he's a fellow Canadian!).

The book is in short supply on Amazon.ca (1-3 months' wait!!) so before I venture into a store and plunk down $30+ I thought I'd seek out opinions.

Any helpful views appreciated.

I am in the middle of the 2nd week of the program. It's absolutely awesome. I have been looking for a comprehensive program like that for a while. However, you need to be prepared to spend around 2h a day in the kitchen. You can shorten that time to 30 min a day if you take 4h on Sunday to do your shopping and then pre-cook main dishes as well as chop, portion and pack breakfast and salad ingredients for the week. I like cooking so this commitment is not a big problem, however, I need to plan better and execute all of the meal preparation on Sunday because I find myself getting back from work and my workout and then cooking my dinner and preparing next day's breakfast, shakes and lunch until 10 pm. I don’t have time for anything else, however, I think it is just a matter of getting used to new recipes and organizing myself better (you need at least 2 sets of Tupperware).
In addition, I wind workouts very challenging and quite frankly after the first week I was barely able to walk straight. It’s getting better and I feel my body starting to change mainly due to all of the great nutrition. I am prepared to push through the 8 weeks and see what happens. My goals are to establish new nutrition habits and to start developing good workout routines. I want to hit 10% body fat by the end of this year (I am at 21% right now) and I think this book is a great way to start the process.
