I just tried powercleans for the first time

And they were fun. The only thing is, it hurt my wrists a little. Now i was just fooling around doing these, trying to find my max, but what do they actually do? like what muscles do they work? And i got 155x 1.

You shouldn't be maxing if it's your first time. I'd start with 10s on each side until you know what you're doing. I guarantee that 155 wasn't proper technique. This is a very technical lift, if you just grip it and rip it you're going to **** yourself up. Not trying to be condescending, just be careful for your own sake bro. They work almost everything, but mainly your calves, hips, legs, back, and traps.

power clean doesn't have a front squat like that, just force absorption from the quads.

this girl can power clean better than everyone on here (including me)

    They're called squat cleans

They're still a varation of the clean, you're simply able to do more weight with them.

yeah i also doubt you got 155 your first time doing them , unless you've been training similar lifts that would help, like high pulls and deadlifts etc

Cleans are a very technical movement. Considering you asked what muscles they work and what they are for, I guarantee you do not have good form.

IMO they are hard to do right... After watching and helping coach 100's of athletes its rare to find guys that do cleans perfectly... and the ones that do are the ones who can actually pull some heavy weight.

IMO, and no offense to the OP, I bet your form was way off... cleans are something where having a person coaching you is extremely helpful.
