Body Odor and Diet
Okay, I don't REALLY know if I smell... maybe a little... but just to be cautious, and because I'm sweating more often than before, I'm conforming my diet to be "odor-friendly"...
So far I've found the following:
- avoid garlic, cumin, curry, and "hot spices
this is soo bad for me b/c I use hot sauce on everything
- avoid chlorine containing foods like fish, legumes, liver, and eggs
arg i eat so much fish, guess i'm sticking to chicken
- avoid red meat
already do
- limit coffee and alcohol intake
don't drink, but i am a drinking celsius energy drink once a day
- avoid processed and refined foods
already do
I've also looked up on google that cinnamon and pumpkin spice have a nice impact on body odor... well thats good caus I eat tons of cinnamon...
However here's my delay: I use the hot sauce to increase metabolism, and fish oil for omega complex... is there another alternative? perhaps should I start using flax and soy oil to get my good fats?
But I want some further input, maybe personal experiences...

Um..do you mean you have a lot of gas...?
Or just your natural body odor?
I think you might be obsessing about something a bit too much with this, honestly.
Fish oils are good for you. Eggs are good for you. Spicy stuff is good for you AND it tastes good.
Just cuz you eat eggs for breakfast, no one is going to think you smell like them..
Wear perfume. Get some mints.
Perhaps some Binanca...

Noo. Just natrual body odor
Is it bad for me to be intrested?
They are good for you, but if I smell like fish and eggs then no thankyou. I've recently started using maybe waay too much spices, in attempt to increase metabolism, and have noticed more persperation and armpit odor...
I don't wear perfume (just don't like it), but am wondering now if taking mint extract would have any effect...
Also just found citrus aids in natural body odor...

Yeah, I think you're going overboard. If a food, like garlic, is effecting your body odor you'll know it! Most likely what you are experiencing is odor as a result of hormones at your age. Nothing you can do about that except use a deodorant, shave daily, and wear clean, fresh clothes. Don't overdo perfumes either. It's a dead giveaway

Spices like turmeric (curry) and red pepper are very good for you, as are "smelly" foods like fish, chicken, eggs, broccoli.
Just working out may cause you to sweat and may change the hormonal milieu a bit, which can cause a little pit odor. Especially true at 16.
The cure is some roll-on, a daily shower, and daily clean clothes. Stay away from people who smoke. Nothing you didn't know already...
If you have access to an outdoor clothes line, try hanging the clothes in the sun to dry. They smell sooooo fresh and clean!!
If it's really bothering you, try some nice lemon or lavender moisturizers or hair conditioners - little luxuries. Don't go heavy on perfume - try TJMaxx for fancy soaps, moisturizers and so on.
No reason to avoid healthy foods and delectable spices.

Sorry, hun. The only cure for this is to get a few years older. And your BO really doesn't smell like the foods you eat unless you eat a ton of it, and that's really only stuff like garlic--I've never heard of anyone smelling because they eat too much fish. Your pits will smell. Sorry. When they get wet and kill the bacteria on them, it makes a funky smell. Nothing you do to your diet will change that.
Try a stronger deoderant like Ban, and apply 2x a day.

You are going way overboard with your restrictions. Everything you listed has some bennefits esp if you are working out. If you drink plenty of water at least 1 gallon it keeps your system fresh and moves toxins out. less toxins=less smell. That and soap, water and deodarant. A good bodyspray or scented oil , good conditioner and a pack of 5 gum ~cobalt and you are good to go

Yus, don't worry about what you're eating and the effect it may have on body odour. I think any effect would be minimal anyway, just take the above advice =) Synthetic fabrics also seem to be worse for pit odour!
I once started smelling like brocolli when I perspired, but I think it was the fake tan I had on =/
If you're worried about excessive sweating try an anti-perspirant like Driclor (I think you can get it over yonder in the States) Stings like a bitch for the first week but it saved my life!

Start using a loofah under your arms...and use anti-perspirant....That "diet" you are trying to do is way to drastic and useless imo.

The only food that really causes body odor on that list is raw garlic and eating tons of curry. Not a little spice or cooked garlic in a meal.
If you ate a half to a whole raw garlic clove, you would understand what it means to have garlic change your body odor. It will literally come out all of your pores even if you don't sweat.

Yep a guy from the gym used to put cloves of garlic in his shakes and you can smell him from a mile away...
And he drank multiple shakes a day. Garlic is very healthy for you though so cutting it out completely isn't advisable.

Buy liquid chlorophyll at a health food store. Put a dropper's worth in a glass of water and drink it. It's the stuff that makes plants green. Drink it everyday.

Admittedly, there isn't enough research to 100% say it works. The best thing would be to try it out yourself, and the most you could lose is 10$. I've been using it for a few weeks and my pits aren't funky in the morning anymore.

What kind of soap are you using? Maybe try one with tea tree. It's natural antibacterial. Usually body odor is from bacteria.
