Yes, I would drop the cardio and just get strong first. Then cut the fat.

Im not being an ass, just saying, your already fat, so no need to worrie about getting fat, just get a decent foundation that will help you melt away the fat when the time comes.

    Thats how I did it.

no, dont drop the cardio. that is a stupid ass thing to say. he obviously needs to lose weight, not gain weight, idiot. you can lose fat and build muscle at the same time. and he isnt gonna get a better foundation by getting heavier.

OP do cardio every day for 30+ minutes and pick a workout routine you want to do. imo i would just do a lot of research and see what is best for you.

Next time children, read the whole thread.

The op asked if SS was a good routine, I replied yes.

Then the op said he was primarily concerned with weight loss, I provided a link to THE MOST EFFICENT AND EFFECTIVE WAY to burn fat.

he said he was doing cardio in his first post.. maybe you should read it again. then you told him to scrap cardio and get heavier. why would you say that in the first place? and i think cardio is better than that circuit training stuff.

Look man, Im not going to get into a long argument like a always do.

I read the op's post and assumed he had the general goal of a moderatley sized physique. Not many people know what SS is unless they are interested in building muscle. It would be alot easier to commit ones self 100% to lifting for a couple months, then cut fat, than to do both over a longer period of time.

Weightloss, and general health can be very opioinated at times. I once thought cardio was the best way to burn fat but I read that article and applied it, and it changed the way I looked at weight-loss. Weight-loss is no longer a concern, I want to gain mass, plain and simple.

Eat clean and eat enough and you should get decent results. I started 240 and 6'3 and my current lifts are

    SQ: 335 5x3
    BP: 225 5x3
    DL: 340 5x1
    PC: 160 3x5
    OHP: 130 5x3

My pressing/clean numbers off to weird form problems. I actually lost weight (10 lbs or so) the first 3 weeks of SS.
