There's a good chance it was just from steroid use. Ever heard of site injections? If you're injecting yourself with it every day or even multiple times a day you'll build up a reserve which will stretch the fascia. That's all that synthol does.

Wot is snthnol? Is it something you inject into you biceps.
Synthol is a site enhancement oil. The general name kinda tells you all you really need to know about them -- they're oils that are injected between the fascia and the muscle to enhance the appearance of the site. They're typically used to do some combination of address bad genetics, make up for asymmetry, or just to look ridiculous (see above video). Eventually when oil use is discontinued, the 'gains' are kept though, simply because the muscle has 'filled in' the volume the oil displaced.
If you watch that video, you can clearly see where his actual bicep is and where the SEO begins.
Who does he think he's kidding, anyway? You can spot the oil from a football field away.
And to the above poster:
No. It's not an oil based steroid. It doesn't even resemble a steroid. They're supposed to be biologically inert...although it has some sweet side effects (permanent brain damage) if it finds its way into your system and makes it past the blood brain barrier.

Thanks, repped.
