Pre-Workout Fuel
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so forgive me if I'm in the wrong place.
I currently lift and do cardio in the am before work. It's just the best way it works into my schedule. I usually lift between 45-60 mins. and do cardio for the same. I lift first and do cardio after that.
I'm looking for something to fuel my workouts that I can have before I lift and then maybe have the rest before my cardio since I'm usually hungry by the time I get to my cardio...unless, of course, whatever I have before I lift would sustain me during my cardio. Three days a week I do HIIT so it would be hard for me to do that without refueling between lifting and cardio but on the other days I can do cardio without refueling since it's steady state.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

superpump and xtend are both great products. either one would get you through the workouts, but you can also use both together. take the superpump before your weights workout, then take the xtend during and after your cardio session. It really helps to keep me going during my cardio when I'm already pretty wiped out.

I use Xtend through my entire workout and I'm good to go.
I know this has nothing to do with your question so forgive me, but at your stats why are you doing so much cardio? Are you not concerned about adding lean mass?

Thanks for all of the great answers everyone. You're so fast! Best place to get Xtend?
Kimm - The short answer/excuse...I'm a cyclist. The long answer is a mental one unfortunately. I do need to update my stats as I'm up to a whopping 115 and holding my own which is pretty good b/c when I started lifting heavier around October I was at 110. But yes, all that cardio does make it hard for me to gain that lean mass. I work my arse off lifting and then turn around and burn it right off.

I would love to try the food option, but since I get up a little before 5am the thought of food kind of turns my stomach. Maybe I could work on that though. Ideas???

I train early too... get up at 4.15am so I can eat before hand and sit down to a big bowl of oats and fruit and protein.
But - if you can't eat - drink... something like a gatorade + some protein powder would be fine. Another easy option would be a 'milkshake' of banana + yoghurt + protein powder....

I do Vasocharge and Xtend pre wrokout...
But I agree with Emma about making yourself a healthy little smoothy with complex carbs and protein pre workout...

Thanks you guys. I like the protein shakes/smoothie ideas. It's funny because I wake up starving in the middle of the night a lot but in the morning the thought of eating...ick! Some great ideas.
