Any issues with being on a long term cut?

Are there any problems with being on a cal deficit was over 30 weeks? What's the longest someone could cut without running into issues?

    Thanks

I don't really see any problem, I would think you could only benefit from a long term cut as your cleansing your body pretty much, a lot of people with a very slow metabolism would have to pretty much live lean there whole life.

I don't have the fastest metabolism in the world so I have to be pretty careful what I eat, so im pretty much on a diet 24/7 if I don't want to get fat..

yes, many problems, but it depends on the magnitude of the deficit.
the biggest is, slower metabolism, if you feel fine and energetic after 30 weeks of eating 1700 kcals a day, then ur fine, but if after 1.5 week, you feel like u need to eat more, then you do. it's called a refeed, or acarb up or a cheat. But its really interesting, it really depends on how our bodies get used to the decrease in energy, one important hormone called leptin, which is released from fat cells, decreases a lot once calories go down, the point of the refeed , which can last like 3 days in extrmee instances, is to bring that leptin level up.
there are some very informative and iteresting articles here

I plan on cutting from Jan 1 until until June 1, but even after that, i have to watch what i eat like craaaazy. As long as you're having intense workouts and not feeling like crap, you're body is probably doing pretty well.
I was worried about not eating enough a few days ago, but then ran 3 miles and felt like a million bucks afterwards...i must be eating enough.
    - 5"10
    - 176lbs

    Feb 13 -- 176.0 Not too shabby..
    Feb 20 -- 178.2 pissed off
