Turning Internet OFF on Iphone. (reps)
Got an Iphone (1st gen.) last week, and it's always connected to the internet (not Wi-Fi, but the mobile internet) so it's costing me a fortune by being constantly connected.
Is there anyway to turn the internet off?

im not sure how it is in the UK, but I think you HAVE to buy an internet plan here w/ Cingular. thats why its always on. check settings though then network, prob turn it off from there

Yeah uhh...here in the US it's highly unlikely to get an iphone without an unlimited internet plan...

The data plan is mandatory when you get an Iphone.
In other words, your stuck paying 30 bucks a month for the interwebz.
Why would you get that phone if you were not gonna use the Web with it? 1/2 of the stuff on there needs it.

the iphone internet should be included in your cell phone bill and is unlimited...at least it is in the US
you get x amount of texts and unlimited internet for one price, plus the minutes on top

CALL UR COMPANY AND SAY BLOCK DATA!!!! IT WORKED FOR ME ....how ever 5-6 dollers it sometimes roams on internet if ur unlucky cause the phone was built for data

Yes, go to the settings, go to NETWORK and turn off DATA ROAMING
but if you arent roaming and i think you have to get a plan that has unlimited internet, your doing something wrong with your bill then idk sorry i tried

Thanks all for your help, repped everyone,, i think I've sorted it now.
Like I said I never brought it with a contract, my mate gave it me,, I had a sh!tty old nokia before, dont really use my phone for much, just mainly using it atm coz it was free!
