I've never seen any studies that indicate anything like that. Flax seed is mainly for heart health, and for that fish oil is better. http://nccam.nih.gov/ is a reputable source if you'd like to take a look. Hair loss is relentless and usually begins in the 20s for men--it may speed up or slow down for other factors, such as male hormones (DHT). Saw palmetto (and Propecia) may help your hair loss problem, as they are DHT blockers.

Over the last several weeks i have noticed some hair falling out. If i ruffle my hair i might see as much as 4 or 5 strands fall out. Also when i shower i feel like i loose a few. I was taking flax and fish oil. Of the supplements i am taking those are about the only thing that is new. I am going to stop taking them and see if the shedding continues.

I was taking both (3g/day each) and my nutritionist told me to stop--too much can cause bleeding problems. Besides, flax has nowhere near the scientific research fish oil has behind it (see: National Center for Alternative Medicine - Fish Oil). I've heard flax does things like joint support, but still I haven't seen any credible studies saying this. I have a whole big bottle, myself, and am not taking it. I want a reason to take it! Just can't find any good research justifying it yet.
