So here we go again.
Background
Amateur Fitness Competitor (placing 3rd - Woop Woop!)
Lifting seriously since January 2008
'Single' mom of a 3 year old (I say 'single' cause I'm not with my son's dad but I have an uber hot boyfriend whose arms are the size of my head. u jealous? )
I'm sarcastic, corny, and pretty dorky = witty. Right? RIGHT?!
I like to read *pushes up glasses*
And before this starts to resemble some really sad personal on-line ad, let's get down to business!!!
GOALS
Squat my bodyweight
Deadlift (Stiff-legged) my bodyweight
Bench my bodyweight
Get lean again
So I know that it will be nearly impossible to gain size and strength if I'm trying to cut at the same time. So the plan is to 'bulk' for the next 3 months or so, then lean out for summer. For us, summer is about 3 weeks of 25C. 30C if we're lucky.
I've found that after my competition (which was November 1st) I've had a horrible time getting back into the swing of things. I actually find the post-competition harder than dieting down. I stuffed my face for about 2 - 3 weeks. I seriously did not go hungry for that time. I gained ~25lbs in 2 weeks. Not cool. I also didn't train for about a month, which didn't help things either.
So here I am getting back into it. I work at the University, and go for my workouts at lunch (where the gym sucks [no dbs over 50lbs or barbells]). Then I do a workout on Saturday since that's the only day the daycare at the gym is open during the week. I could take him during the week, but there's no way I'm going to take my son from one daycare right to another. My son sees his dad for 6 days every month. That's when I cram in a lot of my socializing and when the bf and I can have sex whenever we want.
Hope you enjoy the ride!!

Alright, so a couple of weeks ago I got strep throat (BOO!!), so no working out then. Last week I was being loser and didn't work out as much as I should have. And I'll try and post my diet, but it's kind of crap so hopefully this will kick my butt into gear.
Mmmm....chicken....(say it with me)...mmmm....brown rice.....

No workout, just tried Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD after the little guy went to sleep. HOLY CRAP!!!
I'm sure I'll be swearing at the tv in no time. Was a great workout, definitely a lot different then what I'm used to. I think I'll do it on the days I don't lift.

I got nothin'. I am a nerd.
Awww...you're so sweet!
Actually, I really only started 4 weeks out. Granted, I was pretty lean. I had an awesome trainer who really dialed me in. And my workouts were already pretty much spot on.
Oh, and my bf was AMAZING. He'd make my chicken and babysit for me so that I could go and work on my routine. And he put up with my bitchiness. That's a big one, lol. I can't wait to see what the end result of your little comp you have going!! You're already lifting crazy weight.Last edited by norinicole; 02-03-2009 at 08:11 AM.

February 3 2009
So today was back day, which meant I went to the crappy University gym since the gym I normally go to at lunch is crappy for back day. The university gym is accessed by over 40,000 students. Now we all know that not every student works out. But the only time this place has not been packed is during finals, and then it's just full of asians (no racist) (because we asians are smart and study ahead of time) (just sayin')
So I wait for the squat rack so I can do my bb rows. After I realized I'm an idiot and could have just gone and grabbed a pre-weight bb from the racks cramped in the corner. Oh well, next time.
So while I'm doing my bb rows, I look over at the t-bar (cause it's my next exercise and I've got to scope it out to make sure it's available) and there are these two guys 'trying' to do t-bar rows. They've got a 45 and a dime on there. I have NEVER seen ANYONE so hunched over in my life!!! OMG - how does the exercise NOT feel wrong to them?!
I was very tempted to go over and tell them they were doing it wrong. But I didn't. Maybe I will next time.
Oh! While I'm doing my workout, I notice this 5' girl pumping out the pullups. Seriously, I was staring. First, it's unusual to see any girls in the weights. Second, she had perfect form and was getting 8 - 10 per set. WOW. I was impressed. She had pretty sweet legs too (no lesbo).
ANYWAYS, here's ma workout:
Back
Assisted Pullups(The weight was just numbered 1 -12, so I assumed each one was 10 lbs)
6x80
7x100
4x100
6x120
For each negative I tried to go down as slow as possible. Hence the reverse pyramid, lol
Bent over bb row
12x75
12x85
10x95
18x105
T-bar rows
12x20
12x25
12x40
12x50
Close grip pulldowns
12x70
12x80
10x90 (I'm swearing at the weights right now..."That's right bitch, I ain't scared of you!!" - not out loud though, cause that would be weird)
6x100
Shrugs (db)
(I normally do these on my shoulder day, but I've skipped shoulders the past couple of weeks so I thought I'd get them in today)
12x35
12x40
8x50
8x55
The last two sets my grip failed WAY before my traps. Will be getting some straps this weekend. I really liked the looks I was getting when doing shrugs HA HA HA! Take THAT boys!!
I'd have to say that the highlight of this workout was that when I was doing my bb rows, I could see my traps popping out I've never had traps before.
Tomorrow will be chest. I'll be hoping to get a couple of PRs.Mrs. Hessunit as of May 11, 2013

Nice workout!
I think that I need to incorporate pull ups somewhere into my routine too - I especially love using them like a pump set. Damn that hurts so good!

Yeah, when I told my bf about it, he said I should've taken pics of the guys then posted them in the 'That Guy' thread in the Exercise forum.
Man, that chick was totally built. But not quite in the bodybuilding way. I was definitely checking her out. She was wearing booty shorts too.
I'll be sure to take my cell with me this time, lol.Mrs. Hessunit as of May 11, 2013

I don't see a problem with showing 'em how it's done! Form > Ego!!! Especially if they want to be able to use their lower backs in the upcoming years, lol!
And congrats on having traps!!!Contest Prep Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=146273283&p=911273403&posted=1#post911273403

I know! It seems like guys are more likely to forget to leave their ego at the door when they workout. Or they were just shown improper form from the beginning.
I'm excited about my traps!! I can't wait until I lean out again and can start seeing some REAL separation.
Edit: Poklim - How am I a lesbo?! Just cause I was checking that wicked strong chick out...Jeeze...Mrs. Hessunit as of May 11, 2013
