Keto or no keto.. looking for a clean bulk...
Hi there.. Im looking to bulk a little.. clean bulk that is..
the thing is that im insulin resistant.. I've tried the anabolic diet, a month now.. and instead of a bulk it turned out a cut.. i just find it IMPOSSIBLE to eat as much.. i mean i get sick at the thought of steak with olive oil, or tuna, or egg's.. My appetite is ZERO!.. i just cannot eat..
So, would a clean bulk, meaning complex carbs (oats etc) only in the morning, and post workout, plus after both of those meals 500mg's of metformin, do the trick..(keeping my fat gains at min) or should i try the anabolic diet once again, with the help of injectable B12 1000mcg/ed.. or any other form of keto for that matter..
I'll take the B12 anyway... I just wanna hear what u guyz think...
option 1: 150gr carbs a day.. (2 meals, morning and pwo) ... high fat, high protein.. metformin.. injectable b12
option 2: the anabolic diet(or any other keto), metformin, b-12...

Um...
You do know keto is a CUT diet, not a bulk. Even if you ate way over your BMR, you would lose...

Not knocking it... but it sounds just like a regular keto.
You need your carbs and fats to gain. How much food were you eating? What did your diet look like? Mainly meat and cheese? Vegetables?

Beats me, keto diets help to use fat as the energy source during a deficit, but you will still put on weight with a surplus even if your in keto.
What are your maint. cals? How many g's of protein, fat and carbs are you getting? What sort of training program are you using?
Cutting carbs will not help you to acheive a 'clean bulk'. If you want to gain slowly, with minimal fat gains, you should eat about 200cals over maint. with at least 1g of protein per pound of b.w. and at least 0.5g of fats per pound b.w. Making up the rest of your caloires from carbs will not lead to any greater fat gain than making up the calories with protein.

it was a rhetorical question. you can't.
to the OP. what's the issue?
you can either force keto stuff down in large enough numbers, or you can test this 'insulin resistance' thing.
how do you know this is true? honestly, the super-vast majority of people grossly self-diagnose themselves as carb sensitive.

well im doing the keto stuff cuz my insulin sensitivity is weak.. i know this cuz i know my body.. I gain fat just by looking at sweet things.. lol.. i have this skinny/fat genetics (mad) that wont allow me do go hi carb.. .. thats why i tried keto.. the prob is that i cannot eat enough on it, so i wanna try the conventional way, with just fewer carbs.. i'd be eating the same stuff im eating now, with + 2 carb meals..
the question is.. should i stick to the keto.. and try to up my appetite using injectable b12.. or go with some carbs and metformin (search the aas section, i opened a thread there about it.. pretty good stuff)

I'd avoid the supplements and stop being a wuss and eat some carbs. Chances are it's all in your head. You don't need to go HIGH carb, but you don't have to go keto. Just have some for breakfast/pre/post to meet your calorie goals.

Correction, gain muscle. If you gained weight, that's still fat.

x2. im hardcore endo as well, and i used to be deathly afraid of carbs. It's in your head, if anything it's slight bloating but not fat gain. I did the keto diet, and I'm a big fan. But not for bulking. You need energy from the carbs for your workout when bulking. Center the carbs around your workout, and you'll be fine! If you decide to stick with keto, there is a way to get all the cals you need.....It's called OLIVE OIL. Put 2 tbsp in each shake (you can't taste it, seriously) and your cals will start adding up fast!! (440 cals if you take 2 shakes in a day). Also, try adding heavy cream to your shakes which should bring it up even more!!
