My dog recently died due to unforeseen issues which surfaced abruptly. The whole thing was very sad and I am still emotionally stunned. I did the best I could, she had a nice life with me.

Our Family dog of 13 years died last year. I was 15 when we got him. I remember the day we brought him home. During the car ride he threw up on me. Cutest and most Alpha German Shepherd ever!
He was the most loyal family member out of all of us. He never turned his back on any one of us. He knew when we were sad. He'd come up and nudge you as if asking "Are you okay?"
I grew up got married and joined the military and always called my mom and asked how he was doing.
My mom called me with the news while I was deployed. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Here I am downtown Baghdad looking out for IED's and crying me fcuking eyes out.
I miss you Buddy!~ What's good, is good. ~

Saying Goodbye To A Friend
I lost my first pet in December right before the holidays. I found our outdoor cat, Honey, dead on the lawn one morning. She was a really tiny cat, and probably old. She had been running around our premisses for quite a long time and eventually befriended us. We were slowly trying to get her to become an indoors cat, but she would always freak out when we closed the door behind her. Investigating the scene, it looked like she was chased out of her den, and weakened by the cold and old age, the raccoons caught and killed her. There's a chance it could have been a neighborhood dog. Her stomache was ripped open. The look on her face was horrible.
I felt horrible for bagging her up and putting her in the trash bucket that morning, but it was what we had to do in the meantime to protect her from the scavengers. The dirt was soft the next morning, and got my business done with. I buried her at the side of the house since it had been her stomping grounds for at least the past eight years. Tried to camoflauge the area a bit, and put a small concrete slab over the spot I buried her. She was the first animal companion that I have had to bury, and it was tough. I couldn't keep the tears away that weekend, but I felt a little better once I buried her. It is still very tough not seeing her there to greet me at the porch every day. I still can't help but feel it was my fault that she died. I am becoming more situated with the fact that she is gone, but the neighborhood seems empty without her. Even though she stuck to our yard, she brought life to my neighborhood from my point of view, and I don't think that can be replaced.
She always enjoyed it when I was around. Every night I would spend some time with her. At least I got to spend some quality time with her the night before she died while I was photographing the full moon. While you live, shine

Life exists only a short while

It hurts a lot when pets die. They become a part of you and your family. It hurts more when you find out that you will never see them again, not even when you die. Animals have no souls - I can't imagine a happy afterlife without my furry friends.

sorry to hear that guys. yeah i know the impact of our pets. i have always had pets since i can remember. I cried when my first one died. i was away at college, and it was just sad
My current dog lives with my mom, and she is about 10yrs old and just went blind. i have been doing everything I can to help her adjust, because i can tell that she doesnt know what the hell is going on. I tell ya one thing though, she can still find the kitchen lol
but yeah i told my mom to not wipe the walls because after she bumps her nose into them enough times, she will use the scent as a guide. I also will install some sort of weird feeling material when she knows that she is about to step off of the porch to go outside. I am going to do alot of things like this.
its just unfair because she doesnt deserve to go blind...***Gender Non-Committed***
