Why I hate the US Customs Agency

I was returning from Afghanistan when a US Customs Agent said I needed to surrender five 2lbs jugs of protein, one bottle of creatine, and another powdered suppliment.

I was IRATE. The guy was a lifter, clearly, and said that my powders could be "anthrax" and that they needed to be thrown away.

He promtly collects the bottles and starts taking them to the back when I stopped him and grabbed the bottles. I walked to the trash, shed a tear, and dumped all seven containers into the trash.

HE WAS SO PISSED.

A very large argument insued to where I said:

"If you need to arrest me, do it. But there is not <censored> way you are going to use my suppliments for your gain."

The supervisor came over and there was a very long argument. This was a military charter flight. We were all airmen coming home from the war. We just spent a very long time in harms way and this is what we get?

Other Airmen did not have to surrender their suppliments like I did.

Now, I can afford the purchase of new stuff, I am lucky. But what about poor Airman Snuffy with a wife and two kids? What if this happened to him?

This is the sixth version of this thread. I could not post how I really feel. I just hope I meet this "gentleman" on the street someday.

Thats so weak. The guy was just gonna take it all home and keep it its obvious. Thats why he made such a big deal about it, and also you dumping it out.

I had no problem with my supplements but ya I agree he thought he could pull a quick one on you. The sad thing is I wonder how many other guys **** did he get.

Its sad to throw good stuff away, but good call on that one. Had to make you feel better about a bad situation.

You proved he just wanted to take it home when he let you dump it out right in front of him. If he truely thought it was anthrax he wouldn't let you dump it and "release it into the air" per se.

No Man, Bagram. It was some two striper. I really do hope I get to run into him again someday.

I never brought any of that crap home with me. When It got close to time to come home I was so glad I was coming that I left my stuff with the in coming people at bagram. However you did do the right thing; he would have used you stuff. reps

Hate to hear that, man. Seems like sometimes people abuse their powers. One day somebody might have a jug of anthrax and he'll mix it up to drink!!!

The look on that dude's face was priceless. He was furious. But damn, I just need to watch what I say. I will just say that the customs dudes in Bagram are some shady people.

I left via Kuwait about 10 days ago and they said they just started banning all opened powders, even in original containers. Young guy (Navy customs) let me through though. Another guy on the plane had his taken.

I've never had a problem crossing customs, however I've never tried to carry anything over that was powder-based. And they can check to see if it's anthrax.
