Mfd. by Now Foods
NOT
APPROVED**
(Above UL for niacin)
Contained Claimed Amount of Nutrients
Did Not Exceed Accept-able Level for Lead
Failed to break apart properly

Interesting.
I'm taking a Puritan's Pride multi now, but used to take the Member's Mark (Sam's Club Brand). I'm glad to see it passed the test. I'll be switching back to it when I'm done with this bottle.

I think Im gonna break my vitamins in half from now on, it should increase the rate of breakdown by 25% due to increase in surface area.
Im also not terribly concerned with NOW being a little high on Niacin...lead, now that it something to worry about....glad Im not taking womens vitamins
I wonder if NOW will ever use a capsule for ADAM, like they do for EVE.
Besides the lead (which is a true issue), the story is typical of drama created by news to attract viewers and didnt tell us much that we already didnt know.

Random, but when I fry up left over potaters I bust them up to increase their surface area. Smaller hash browns equal flavor explosion!!!
But lead eh… hmm… that’s pretty much the polar opposite of cool. Very not cool. I’m glad I don’t take women’s multivitamins.

I wonder if there were any issues with NOW's Eve. I've got my mother on it, and she hasn't had any dizziness that she had with other multi's.

VS has already pulled the products that came out of this report. They did this as a precaution while they're R&D team researches and does it's own investigation. VS's offical stance is that they take issue with the findings, and do not view them as conclusive, but are taking the precautionary steps of removing the products while they investigate.

Thanks for posting the doc and spreadsheet, reps.
I'm surprised they haven't tested any of GNC's vitamins. Any idea why?

no clue why they didn't, good question though. I'll read around the website a bit and maybe send them an email about it.

I have a bottle of the new formula of GNC Ultra Mega Gold without Iron and NOW Adam in front of me.
The GNC bottle says "Potencies verified by GNC procedure #5015. Conforms to USP <2091> for weight. Disintegrates of five hours for timed-release benefit."
The NOW Adam bottle does not have anything like that on it.
For whatever that's worth

Why would a pressed tab ruin the effectiveness of the vitamin? So this would warrant Animal Pak worthless then?

nice thread
I always thought of Now Adam as a good Vit, but afer reading on the Niacin remomendation and now has 15 mg above it. I have decided to give Puritan's Pride's Ultra Vita Man Time Release for men a try.
about the same price since they are on sale now
Here is the link on niacin, incase anyone was interested in it.
