Teardrop muscle
Other than squats, lunges, and leg press, What are some good excercises to develop the teardrop muscle in the legs. My quads are progressing ,but the teardrop area is lagging.
Thanks

Squats traps to grass
Leg Extensions.
Hack squats.
On this website, you gotta get the rep. points first. Then when you get the rep. points, you get the power...then when you get the power, then you get the women.
Is it better to be loved or have bb.com rep points? That's a good question. It's great to be both, but it's very difficult. But if I had my choice, I would rather have bb.com rep points. BB.com rep points last longer than love.

I got asked this a few days ago in the gym and didn't have a clue. I told the guy deep slow squats (since he was squatting in a quick not so deep fashion) and leg extensions.

I've been told that Hack Squats work the tear drop well. There's a Charles Glass video in the FitShow Archives where he talks about that. I think he suggest a narrow and low foot placement on leg press to hit that.
I've tried both and have felt the teardrop being worked.

Excuse my ignorance but I thought only genetics plays a role in how your muscles are formed? Not by manipulation... other wise wouldn't different placements of hands on bench press be a way to manipulate your muscle growth?

The quadriceps femoris has 4 heads, hence the name quad, so by varying exercises, foot positioning etc you can increase the emphasis on a given head thus resulting in a greater development of the given head.

Aside from the exercises, I think the length of the muscle belly of the vastus medialis plays a big role in how good a teardrop you can develop.
Even before I started training I had that teardrop shape, and it started filling out with leg work when I began lifting. A few of my friends clearly have shorter muscle bellies and longer tendons there, making it more of a streamlined look into the knee as opposed to a nice big fat teardrop.
Same way that my biceps start about an inch/1.5 inches above my elbow, therefore I will never fully have that cut from the elbow, but should get a good peak in time.

Haven't read his book yet, but he debunks a lot of stuff:
