Blew my diet, skipped the gym and I deserved it...
My company closed down today for good and I'm out of a job.
So I skipped the gym, drank 5 beers, ate 3 burgers and a candy bar just to get over it.
Tomorrow I'm going back to the gym to work it all off. Thank God I still have my gym membership until August.

Hard times. Feel for you - if anything that's a moderate blow-out. What's your plan now?>

Well, I have to get my resume in order and start pounding the pavement. But I do have a couple of people in mind and see if I can approach them for a job.
In the meantime, I'm just going to hit the gym, catch up on some reading (lots of books I put aside) and chill.
The weird thing is I feel that things will turn out alright. (At least, I'm hoping...)

"A" nacho??? LOL!! That actually made me bust out laughing. Thanks for the laugh.
Seriously, I hope that you won't be in my shoes anytime soon and your commitment to job peace is unwarranted.

Glad to provide some joy in your day.
I left a stable job paying 50K more than what I am making becuase they treated me like dog sheet and I worked so many hours I could not enjoy life. I am at peace with whatever happens bro. I believe no matter what happens to me I can overcome it.

Dude, if anybody knows what you feel like, its me. I'm in the same boat with the exception of the company going out of business.
Don't worry about a little bump in your nutrition. You could've gotten ripped and stoned. You didn't. Sometimes we need to let down the walls to cope. It was a few beers. You did all right.
Do what you can. It's all you can ask of yourself.
I'll pray for you, brother.

Sorry to hear about your situation. These are trying times for all of us. The company I work for is very, very slow. I am last on the list to get laid off because I was the first employee that they hired (29) years ago. Having said that, I am worried anyway. Just remember we as gym rats are tough and can take it (no matter what it is)......I wish you the best of luck in and out of the gym............god bless.

Sorry to hear the news, but if I were in your shoes I wouldn't be chilling, I would be hitting those network connections hard.

I was there a little over 5 years ago, finally I decided where I wanted to work and left my degree off my resume and took a courier job. When a position I was qualified for opened up I put my BS back on the resume and got it (since I was internal at that point.) I've come quite a ways since then, funny thing is, I really miss that courier job some days.

Honestly, when I first joined bb.com, I really didn't know what I was getting into. I thought it was all about bodybuilding, nutrition, exercises and all those crazy acronyms that I'm still learning!! but I find that it's much more than that. It's about camaraderie, fraternity, friendly competition and fellowship.
My brothers, thank you for the laugh, the advice, the support. In this tough time, sometimes words are enough to get you by and you said them loud and clear.
Thanks!
ps - Bando - I'll be hitting the network connections very hard but I sure the hell ain't gonna hit it 24/7. I gotta eat my Wheaties sometimes.
Hogslayerz - Working at this small company, I was a Marketing Director, Office Manager, Warehouse Manager, Customer Service Manager and Janitor all at the same time at this small business and stupid me didn't take much vacation.

Sorry to hear this brother.
Keep your chin up and pound the pavement.
It's getting very scary out there, I'm not sure what's around the next bend...... almost afraid to look.

I feel you...
You take care of yourself. You had a lot of company yesterday. I think something like 80,000 layoffs happened yesterday.
The wheel of life hasn't quite finished it's downturn but everybody can find a job, even the most difficult of economies. It just may take a little longer than usual, and require some out of the box thinking to find something.
For the rest of us blessed with a job, every day we keep it a day closer to the end of this bull****. Thereby reducing our future exposure to being job-free during this economic downturn.
Keep the faith.

I realise I am not over 30 lol, but i have to say that I am really sorry to hear you guys losing your jobs just like that. I hope things get better for you asap.
Also it scares the **** out of me. What the hell am I going to do when I finish uni...If people are getting fired just like that the prospects for younger people don't look good at all. No jobs, if you get one you get a ****ty contract, ****ty pay and treated like ****.
bad times.

Sorry to hear about your job loss man and now you've got me thinking too about my job. In Japan all the companies are stopping bonuses and I hope mine is ok for this year. I guess that'll give you more time to work out until things get better right?

Feel for you man. Keep your spirits up and keep that positive mental attitude going. Don't really have much more advice than what has already been said, but just to give you another vote of confidence that hope things turn out for you.
Since you're in N'awlins, if nothing else, take in a few parades during Mardi Gras and relax some. Take some time for your mental health.
Wish you the best!

Just think of all the opportunities that are open to you now. Try to focus on the best possible outcome and drive toward that.
