Why do people compare Obama to Hilter?

if i'm not mistaken Reagan was wildy popular at the 1980 election yet i've never seen him compared to Hilter.

Help me to understand why his popularity would put him on par with a megalomaniac who ordered the slaughter of millions and tried to forcefully take over Europe.

Now if you throw in the proposed 'Youth Groups', that's another common factor.

Both are/were socialists as well.

Take Hitler in his early days, before the Jew-killing and other unpleasantness and you get a charismatic leader, a guy who made a lot of promises, who basically said some of the very things that Obama is saying, a guy who took advantage of a weak economy, someone who people basically had an unreasonable attraction to, a cult following like none other, who demanded respect and lashed back at any sort of criticism.............he was an eloquent speaker, but one that people didn't know much about.



Obama's following is equally unreasonable, as far as modern presidents go, this is the guy that we absolutely know the least about, and he has worked hard to keep things that way. He has been intentionally vague about his plans and has used his charisma and soaring rhetoric to attract a mass cult following based on emotion and not logic.


As far as Reagan goes, I don't remember the whole media fawning over him, kids wearing Reagan sneakers, Reagan nail-clippers being sold, Reagan's wife being fawned over by fashion magazines, nor do I remember the sort of idol worship that has accompanied Obama, a junior one-term senator from Illinois who suddenly became anything and everything to people.






The simplest way to explain it is just as with Hitler, there are many people who have an unreasonable emotional connection to Obama, there are many who HAVE called him the Messiah and describe him with God-like characteristics.........


If you speak to any old Germans who resided in Germany during the time of Hitler(I have a few family members who fit this category), they will readily express that no politician has received this sort of attention and worship since Hitler.


People aren't saying that Obama will go out and massacre people, simply that people are illogically fawning over a guy who has yet to show any real substance outside of his rhetoric. We don't know this guy enough for people to be insanely idolizing him.

Both facism and socialism put the government in full control of the country's resources (including people). Socialism controls the people directly, while facism controls business which indirectly grants them control over the people.

Of course in Hitler's case, he took facism well beyond it's limits and turned it more into a dictatorial socialist regime.

A more accurate comparison would be to the infamous Stallin for an Obama-Stallin comparison.
Stallin was a Socialist, far left wing ideoloigies with a authoritarian dictatorship. Obama, has far left wing ideologies although his doesnt have the authoritarian value so he's not a dictator. Obama still has socialist values in place with the whole "lets help the poor and pay for them with the middle-upper class' money." That is about as socialist as you can get.

Lets face facts.. Hitler, in terms of his accomplishment of coming from nothing, in a country that for all sake of argument was broke and starving.. in a very short time he created one of the strongest nations on Earth. He was without a doubt the ultimate of all politicians, He promised people who were broke and hungry nothing more than hard work and bread, he made the glad to be on that path..

Liberals with a very short sighted view/evaluation of the U.S. to post WW1 Germany and its rise to power post WW2, thinking Obama is going to change the U.S. as the same level and speed Hitler did to Germany.

Far from it. Reagan never had the media backing that Obama has. Most of the media was against him. The big difference between Obama and Reagan is that Reagan gained a cult following of sorts AFTER his presidency, not while he was campaigning on 4 years of experience in the Senate. Reagan was a 2 term governor and a political veteran. Obama has done very little of substance in his less than 5 years in the Senate.

Thank you. If you read through some of Hitler's speeches, the things he promised were not that far different from what Obama has said. He was a staunch supporter of gun control and believed strongly in the redistribution of wealth.

Comparing the absolute hysteria surrounding Obama with that of what Hitler experienced is not racist whatsoever. People think of Hitler in evil terms because of what happened post 1934........but prior to that, he was just an absolutely brilliant politician, who told the people exactly what they wanted to hear, who spoke eloquently with unbridled passion and ended up taking advantage of a massive economic downturn to slowly but surely strip civil rights and set the people up for his next phase of action.



Nobody has claimed that Obama will follow in Hitler's footsteps, but that the levels of cult worship and fanaticism between the two are becoming eerily similar.

Vast media and school propaganda that ensures that people are raised to believe that anything authoritarian must be right-wing and anything benevolent and good is left-wing only. Hitler was left-wing in the most basic sense, he just hated the title of Marxism because he didn't want to compete with others for control of his people. Nazism is just a more blatantly racist and vicious version of traditional Marxist philosophy.

I always thought that Hitler was economically extreme-left (completely against capitalism), but socially extreme-right (against gays and other races).
