The ****ed up thing to me is.....this was hardly even a "relationship" to begin with. I really didn't do anything wrong..If she caught me red handed cheating on her or if I beat her or something along those lines...maybe....I admit the break up was a little sour but it saved a ridiculous phone conversation.

I don't think breaking up with girlfriend in text message is a bad way if it's in the right context and she is actually a bitch.

However, you can't expect to think you're being a gentleman by thinking you're giving her a nice text message explaining why you're breaking up with her.

Either you're being cold on her and break up by SMS, or you be nice and talk to her in real life. Anything in between is bad IMO.
