I do two 55 lb. dumbells and I wanted to see how that compared to eveyone else. I do regular shrugs, not ones where you go around in a circular motion or anything.

If I use DB'S I WOULD do
Right arm then left arm one arm shurgs at 90's for 2 sets of twelve then one final set of twelve reps at 95 or 100. When I do two arm shurgs I use 80,85,90 for 12 reps. I usually use the kickass free weight shurg paltform at my gym I usually load about like 4 plates at a ten and five on each side and do 12 reps then I do 5 plates and a five then finally I really ramp that **** up and hit 5 plates and a 10 and five for 12 reps.Weight: 205, Ht: 5'6
Bench Press: 430
Squat: 475
Deadlift: 450

W.O.W...listen to your body and what works for YOU...not for someone else...If lifting heavy works for you, DO IT, if 12-15 reps works for you...DO THAT THEN... also comes down to diet...do what works for you... EVERYONE is different!!!

lol. trying to avoid pain and you play football? :-p j\k
so what? move up in weight, maybe you'll be sore for a couple days maybe you won't....either way its not going to last for too long.
*on a side note, if you work them regularly then your chances of getting sore are deminished due to less AA in that area unless you start working them in a new way....in which case they may be sore for a couple days.Molecular Nutrition Representative
