Although I'm inclined to agree, the situation isn't the same. The first great depression was largely caused by bank manipulation, whereas this one is being scrutinized much more closely, meaning it's less prone to misconduct. A depression probably, but I don't think we'll reach Great Depression status.

It's not as bad as the media makes you think. People are laid off constantly, but because of the current situation, the media is covering it more.
Go here: http://www.marginalrevolution.com/ma...lution/page/7/ and go to the third topic, "Comparing Recessions" or something along those lines. Look at the graphs. I could explain to you in terms that some may understand, but I figure you retards would understand it better looking at a picture.

24 hour fitness has droped 5,000 people. And get this, the message announcing this was right below a picture of the CEO Carl liebert smiling. I want to find a new job but there is no point because if your new in a workplace you 10x more likely to get dropped because of this.

"Even through the darkest days, this fire burns, always."
The pessimist complains about the wind
The optimist expects it to change direction
The realist adjusts the sails

Are you a professional whinger?
Do you run around repeating bad news just to make everybody feel ****tier?
Many of those jobs had to go because in the last few years in the BOOM times, those companies have put on too many employees to deal with ANY kind of slow-down, and now they are reversing some of it.

You're all over the place with your points. I don't care about any of that stuff. I'm telling you that having a Democrat in the Oval Office isn't what stopped the Great Depression:
"The mobilization of manpower following the outbreak of war in 1939 finally ended unemployment.
In the United States, the massive war spending doubled the GNP, either masking the effects of the Depression or essentially ending the Depression."
