My situation is similar to yours (except I don't have a period

)
I've found that you don't have to eat until you are "full" but just until you aren't hungry anymore. Simply put, eat 3/4 of your meals if they are unhealthy.
I limit myself to 1 coke a day (And thats maybe 4 days a week, sometimes less). I know I shouldn't drink any but all I drink is water, Dr Pepper, and Capri Sun (yes the kids juice). After 7-8 bottles of water a day it gets a lil boring and on the road I can't drink the juice.
I eat a bit less. As in, instead of a burger and a medium order of fries I might not eat the entire meal. Eat half of the fries and 3/4 of the burger, etc.
Cut out all the unhealthy snacking (It sucks but it adds calories) substitute it with grapes/apples (you may like other fruits instead).
And most importantly cut out the unhealthy midnight snacks. Natural peanut butter on a bit of whole wheat toast or maybe even a thin layer of natural fruit jelly with that.
Also occasionally boiled eggs (never more then two).
BTW fast food is terrible on the wallet. If you can buy a loaf of bread, some jelly, and natural peanut butter. Eat PB and J, when that's boring eat PB and J on toast. Eat ham/turkey sandwiches. Shop for things like chicken breasts on sale (can be grilled quickly, I usually eat with a potato dish of some kind).
If your in a hurry pick up the "rotisserie chicken" that are already cooked, etc. Tons of meals that are easier on the wallet then fast food.
I also eat Chow Mein and Ramon Noodles. (Unhealthy but extremely quick to fix and cheap to buy, one good thing is the calories are on the package if you measure that sorta thing)
Another thing, cut out some of your dairy if possible. I used to eat cheese, drink milk, eat ice cream, and consume all manners of dairy products. Probably on a pretty high level. I've stopped that almost completely. The ONLY time I eat any dairy now is if I'm gonna 'treat' myself at a Mexican restaurant and the dish I order happens to have cheese. (This is only like once every 3-4 months max). And occasionally about a shotglass cup of milk if I treat myself to cake/brownies. (again rare, maybe once every 2 months max).
Doing all of the above I've maintained my weight at 150-152lbs for about a year now. Where as before I didn't do that I was 166-168lbs. As you can see even though I eat mostly unhealthy foods I've manage to loose and keep off about 12-15 lbs. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone (because I know little about health & nutrition) unless they really don't have any alternatives. Your situation sounds similar to mine (busy, broke college student who likes food and isn't much of a cook.)
BTW also I noticed when I followed an extremely stringent workout routine (I modified the "Navy SEAL" bodyweight routine to something a bit tougher with +25lbs strapped to me) I was eating almost double the amount of my usual food (yes some of it was unhealthy) trying to "bulk" and I was STILL losing weight, I dropped to 147lbs. I think the workout was so intense my body used up all energy possible and instead of bulking I ended up cutting. Of course, if I had eaten healthy nutritious food I probably would have been able to bulk better.
So picking up your workout a bit might also help you.
GL to you, I know what it's like to not be able to eat healthy, and in my case cannot afford 50$ a month and a three year contract to get in a gym (stuck working out at home).
