    Smile tens units

I was just wondering if any of you folks ever use a tens unit before or after training? I have been using one for a couple days for an elbow injury. It seems to be helping. A fellow at the gym told me some bb.ers use it to help recovery time. I really don't know much about that stuff. Any thoughts on this?

Both my wife and my mother have used TENS units for back injuries with no long term success. The little research that I have done suggests that the TENS might help with temporary pain, much like an menthol heat rub, such as Ben-Gay does. It might help the injury feel better, but it probably has no long term effect. Of course, the danger with any kind of pain killer is that you think you injury is better progressed then it actually is.

As these machines can be quite expensive, I would suggest you do more research and consult a reputable doctor.

    tens

I have used a TENS unit for about 5 years for a back injury. Mainly what it does for me is losen the muscles that I target so I am in less pain. I am not sure what the benifits would be for using it for workouts. Then again I never really looked for them as I use it for a more specific reason.
