instead of adding magnets i just addd chains i wrap around the db's each chain is 5 lbs and 10 lbs so i have 20 lbs db's 40 lb db's and 60 lb db's instead of 20-25-30-35 ... etc

I sometimes use my band for dumbbells, but I've never done chains. Are you talking about using chains for linear variable resistance, where you are progressively lifting more weight off the ground, or just wrapping them around the handle. Pics?
