i like broomstick twists.. not really any resistance and its helped tighten my waist from personal experience.. as soon as you start doing direct resistance work for obliques you better keep a watch on your waistline brosef

im going to have to disagree with you, i havent seen a peron who looked like they had love handles as the result of strong obliques.
lucky for me, i have a naturally tiny waist (29-30) so im gona do em heh. its hard for me to find jeans sometimes so i wouldnt mind a bigger waist

You can't isolate the obliques but this will make em work hard http://www.t-nation.com/readArticle.do?id=459314
Give them a try, come back and report.

I have, in fact I used to be one of those people. Until I stopped doing direct oblique exercises. Try doing sets of 20 reps of side bends with a 45lb plate, perfect form (all the way to each side, each rep), for a month and you will deveop stong love handles.
Thats why I stopped. I know it's all muscle, but it just doesn't look right. Same reason no females should ever do side bends.

If you have fat sitting on top of big obliques it will look like love handles. If you have low body fat, and pronounced obliques, it completes the adonis belt.
