OK, a friend of mine handed over to me a membership for Ballys. I have one near my house that is about 4 blocks away. Its a newer one also and will be checking it out today. I've been wanting to being social, especially after a break-up I had. I guess I have both gyms to go back and fourth to.
Plus, to renew it is only $97 a year.[]---[] Equipment Crew Member No.2

$97 a year isn't too bad me thinks. Never been in a Bally's though, I think there's only one near me. Aren't they like a all in one type place? That would be a cheap price for an occasional break from the norm. Is that renewal fee for life or will it go up?
I'll work on some pics. Though, it already looks about 40% better than it did. Plus I've got the pad off while I powerwash it.
I've been a little down about it so I didn't rush to get pics. Its looking better though, so I'm getting a little more excited!▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

All in one type of place? I have no idea what that is but I used to work out in one of the ballys when I was 17 years old. Someone else had to sign for me, but I loved it when i was doing it. I got eventually tired of the wait for equipment and the idiots in there.
I have to ask if that $97 is for lifetime but I really doubt it. The good thing is that now I wont be paying anything out of my pocket and since its only 4-5 blocks away, no gas and time will be spent to go there. Well, until the renewal is due.[]---[] Equipment Crew Member No.2

there isn't a bally's near me, i think the closest one to me is about 44-50 minutes away. $97 a year isn't bad at all, i'd take a membership to almost any gym for that!
that's why i'd want it, just for something different once in a while.

Once, at my local gym, I went into the locker room to take a leak. There was this little hairy, naked guy (probably my age) with it swinging down to his knee. He was really showing it off and smiled at me (WTF?!?) and winked. Me, being me, told him out loud, "if you want to impress me with that, have it hold up a barbell with 2 plates a side."

nice looking workout man.
here's mine. it sucked and i want to kill something.
went for a bench max (with about a second pause):
135x6, 185x4, 225x2
275x0, stuck about 3" off my chest.
265x0, pushed it up and off the holders, shot forward and my rack saved my
guts.
went for a military press max:
95x4, 135x2
175x0, pressed it halfway up, got stuck
165x1
i'll have to go for my bench max this weekend, i'll see if i can get a spotter/someone to give me a liftoff. i'll do deadlift tomorrow, i sure the heck hope it goes better."If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace." -Thomas Paine

Hahaha, it took one day. I think my back is starting to feel better though, so that will make the break worth it right there.

I think I dodged a bullet. My family has been sick, and I had the sniffles and a sore throat yesterday morning so I started popping zicam. Today I feel fine. This stuff works if you do it early.
Long cardio session today. Trying to keep from getting fat since I've upped my calories(extra 750-1000) and protein(extra 100) over the last couple of weeks.
I hate cardio.Last edited by Skidmarx; 04-29-2009 at 03:16 AM.

Haha, man that didn't last long. As long as you're still fresh you should be ok. I think I may need a deload next week, more for mental rest than physical though. Too many distractions with this warm weather, too!
Man, cardio definitely sucks. You're lucky you can easily get that many extra calories. Maybe I need to take some eating lessons from JF. I haven't been eating enough in the past 2 weeks and I'm losing weight! Strength hasn't been too bad, but my squats feel weaker than they were. Got to make sure to up the intake now.[]---[] Equipment Crew Member No. 13

Just to give you some backup.....the zycam does work. You have a VERY small window, like right when you start to feel the scratchiness in your throat....I mean like the instant you realize you're about to be sick is when you need to use it. The last time I missed the window a bit and still kept using it for several days...like they say even then I was sick for a shorter period of time than usual and my symptoms were decreased.
Expensive stuff at like $12 an ounce, but well worth it in my opinion.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

random thoughts
-this will be a good day. my wife woke me up with coffee and is cooking breakfast. she said "do you want some sausage and eggs"?
i said "yea, mrs animalfan, i want some eggs and sausage"!
-3 more days left at work, not gonna bother worrying about it anymore, there's no point.
-going for a deadlift max in a while. think i can dead with my fingers crossed? i'm hoping for better results than i had yesterday, but i suppose that shouldn't be hard to accomplish.
-i didn't call it out, but my new military press max was a 45# pr. although i never really trained it before, the most i had gotten was 120# with a little leg drive. the 165 was without a push from the legs.
-jfindon, how you holding up brother? if you can't stay away from the weights, accutron was right, i'd stay around 50%.
-jalepeno tabasco sauce is awesome on eggs.

Well me and the guys did chest/tris and shoulders yesterday again. Some of them said they were just getting over the soreness from last Wednesday (same workout).
Since we have been posting our workouts lately:
Circuits-10 reps at each station, chest/tri rotation, no rest until you complete the circuit
3 of the stations were pushup variations, 1 was bench dips, 1 was a tricep exercise (side-tri-rise) and 1 was overhead tricep ext w/ a dumbbell.
We did that 2 times.
Then we did it again 2 times through w/ a change -instead of dips, we did skull crushers and of course different style pushups.
Then we did sets of pushups while one person did dumbbell bench, when they got off dumbbell bench, we rotated-still doing pushups til we got to the bench. So, you did a set of dumbbell bench presses, then 5 sets of 10 pushups.
Lastly we did a circuit of dumbbells bench press, followed by pylo pushups, followed by pushups, followed by plyo pushups.
Then, we did 2 sets of 1 arm dumbbell bench press. IF YOU GUYS HAVE NEVER DONE THESE, YOU NEED TO TRY THEM. WORKS THE CORE AS WELL.
Oh, almost forgot about the shoulders
We did overhead presses w/ 45s or 60s or 75s, then front raises w/ 20s.
2x through.
Finished w/ 2 sets of 10 dips.[]---[] Equipment Crew Member #14

Oh by the way, my review on the Kentucky Grilled Chicken is this:
Kind of weird the way the skin was cooked onto the chicken...it was like a snake was shredding......
The taste was ok, nothing special at all. Somehow the chicken inside was still greasy(?).
About 30-45 minutes later, my stomach felt kind of weird.
All in all....I probably wont do it again...even if it is free.[]---[] Equipment Crew Member #14
