first workout log
Hey guys, I've just decided to start a training log on here for the first time so bare with me!
I have a figure competition on May 23rd, and shoots prior to and after the show. I start dieting on February 28th. My main things that I am focusing on are building my legs to gain a nice balance with my upper body and to also make me appear a bit more curvy. I have a wider waist and my mid section thickens pretty quickly with power moves. I've been playing around with no power dead lifts and more supported squats. It seems to have made a difference but I have also lost a bit of size everywhere, mostly in my legs.
I currently am training legs a lot harder and a lot lower rep range. It feels awesome! I like to do legs over 2 days during the week of my 5 day split. My hams tend to overpower my quads a bit so I'll try to bring out my quads more. Here was my leg workout today....a little scattered and the order was definitely not perfect but regardless it felt amazing!
I did 4 sets of each in the 6-8 rep range besides dumbbell deadlifts and one legged bodyweight squats which I did 10-12 reps:
Smith machine squats
Walking dumbbell lunges
Step ups
lying leg curl
One legged bodyweight squat
One legged dumbbell deadlifts
calf press on leg press (4 x 15 reps)
seated calf raise (4 x 15 reps)
Pointers and tips are more than welcome! It feels completely different lifting so much heavier with my legs and I love it. As show day comes closer we'll just have to see how I respond and make changes as needed.
