the OP did not phrase it very well, but what they are referring to is increased blood flow to areas that normally get less bloodflow, such as the lower abs and back. Thus, it is harder for the body to mobilize bodyfat into the bloodstream to be burned. That's how niacin and chromium can 'get to the fat', they actually just help the blood flow to certain places better. the same can be said for fasting, which increases the bloodflow and fat mobilization from these "tough spots".

Not true, it's very easy to have too much iron if you have haemochromatosis, which can kill you. It's where your body stores too much iron and deposits the excess in your liver, heart or even lungs. It has very few symptoms, but can be fatal. If you have very high iron levels, get tested for haemochromatosis. The good news is that if you have it, treatment is very simple: just give blood every week until your iron levels are normal.
65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs = keto.

You could get it from your mother. The fact that you are definitely not anemiac seems to point to you not getting his iron storage genes. Wouldn't hurt to get it checked (I'm surprised your doctor didn't suggest it, I'd worry about that) and it could save your life. My uncle died of it.

Sorry my countrymen are against people like me having health coverage to have it checked. Eileen, I'm perfectly healthy, I'm in great shape and I know its the beef liver tabs doing it because my blood iron was never that high before I started taking them. Probably why he wasn't alarmed I'd imagine I told him that I started taking them and eat lots of seafood and eggs.
Why, if I ran to the doctor every time I might have a rare hereditary disease that my family history would not indicate I'm predisposed for, then I would die because I'd be homeless and catch pneumonia when we got a good cold rain. Medical visits are too damn expensive, I'll just have to risk it. I do appreciate your concern though.

The thing is, it's NOT rare. About 10% of the population are carriers. And the test for it is cheap. It's a simple blood test, like the one your doctor already did, but ask him to look at iron reserves, not just iron level.
As you are young and healthy, it's not likely to be a factor for years, but it's useful to know.65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs = keto.

I see a problem. Niacin blocks the breakdown of fats, which causes a decrease in fatty acids in the blood, which decreases the secretion of LDL and cholesterol by the liver. By lowering LDL levels, it increases the HDL. I doubt there are many on this forum who want to anything that blocks the breakdown of fats.

I will take you up on this challenge. I have just finished a bottle of Niacin and have been doing some extreme keto and body transformation.
Looking to DESTROY the last bit of bodyfat and I'll see if the disappearance of my ~5/week pills of Niacin help/hinder/ineffective that process.
Tangentially- I've gotten real anal about keto Pre-wo and PWO shakes, considering Apples and Fructose, so if anyone has good resources for that, direct me there. Thanks.

JoeToering was the most right on this subject so far. I figured I should post in case anyone reads this still. I am a medical student and we just learned about drugs to treat different lipid disorders. I also have friends who have taken niacin for the reason you are discussing so I wanted to add my two cents.
Niacin does not help you burn fat. Niacin reduces the activity of an enzyme (Hormone sensitive Lipase), this enzyme is responsible for mobilizing the fat from you cells and moving it into the blood. By taking Niacin you inhibit this process and stop the movement of fat out of your body's cells. (the people who take Niacin have too much fat (triglycerides) in there blood)
However Niacin does help to remove cholesterol from you body (not fat i.e. triglycerides). Niacin acts to to increase a protein found in HDL, HDL is what helps remove cholesterol from your body and transport it to the liver for excretion from the body. Cholesterol is not what makes you "fat" necessarily. Cholesterol has more to do with plaque build up in your arteries.
In conclusion-
Niacin acts to stop fat from leaving your cells and moving into the blood
Also, by having more HDL around you increase the amount of cholesterol removed from your body.
To my knowledge niacin has never been approved or tested as a "fat burner," please show me the study if you find one that says otherwise, I would like to know.
You may see somewhere that Niacin lowers you triglyceride levels. This is true but keep in mind that this statement is referring to the amount of triglycerides (fats) in your BLOOD, not the amount in your cells.
You should be wary about taking Niacin, especially if you have diabetes or gout. Consult with your doctor before deciding what you think is best for your body.
