the OP did not phrase it very well, but what they are referring to is increased blood flow to areas that normally get less bloodflow, such as the lower abs and back. Thus, it is harder for the body to mobilize bodyfat into the bloodstream to be burned. That's how niacin and chromium can 'get to the fat', they actually just help the blood flow to certain places better. the same can be said for fasting, which increases the bloodflow and fat mobilization from these "tough spots".

Not true, it's very easy to have too much iron if you have haemochromatosis, which can kill you. It's where your body stores too much iron and deposits the excess in your liver, heart or even lungs. It has very few symptoms, but can be fatal. If you have very high iron levels, get tested for haemochromatosis. The good news is that if you have it, treatment is very simple: just give blood every week until your iron levels are normal.

You could get it from your mother. The fact that you are definitely not anemiac seems to point to you not getting his iron storage genes. Wouldn't hurt to get it checked (I'm surprised your doctor didn't suggest it, I'd worry about that) and it could save your life. My uncle died of it.

Sorry my countrymen are against people like me having health coverage to have it checked. Eileen, I'm perfectly healthy, I'm in great shape and I know its the beef liver tabs doing it because my blood iron was never that high before I started taking them. Probably why he wasn't alarmed I'd imagine I told him that I started taking them and eat lots of seafood and eggs.

Why, if I ran to the doctor every time I might have a rare hereditary disease that my family history would not indicate I'm predisposed for, then I would die because I'd be homeless and catch pneumonia when we got a good cold rain. Medical visits are too damn expensive, I'll just have to risk it. I do appreciate your concern though.

The thing is, it's NOT rare. About 10% of the population are carriers. And the test for it is cheap. It's a simple blood test, like the one your doctor already did, but ask him to look at iron reserves, not just iron level.

As you are young and healthy, it's not likely to be a factor for years, but it's useful to know.

I see a problem. Niacin blocks the breakdown of fats, which causes a decrease in fatty acids in the blood, which decreases the secretion of LDL and cholesterol by the liver. By lowering LDL levels, it increases the HDL. I doubt there are many on this forum who want to anything that blocks the breakdown of fats.

I will take you up on this challenge. I have just finished a bottle of Niacin and have been doing some extreme keto and body transformation.

Looking to DESTROY the last bit of bodyfat and I'll see if the disappearance of my ~5/week pills of Niacin help/hinder/ineffective that process.

Tangentially- I've gotten real anal about keto Pre-wo and PWO shakes, considering Apples and Fructose, so if anyone has good resources for that, direct me there. Thanks.

Niacin dilates the blood vessels. The warmth you feel is called "Niacin flush" nitric oxide released by amino acids do the same giving the "pump feeling" also L-Arginine is also in Viagra.
