For discussion purpose : What is your view on Sesamin for health purpose only at low dosage (500 mg) to avoid side effects ?
I really did not like the product for cutting purpose and at recommended dosage but it seemed to help with BP and overall health.

I discovered Astaxanthin from the article below. I frequent their website & started taking it in February of last year I think.
http://www.naturalnews.com/023177.html
Pretty much everything he discusses in the article is spot on from my experience taking it.
Spirulina is also an amazing FOOD that has tons of benefits...again I was prompted to start taking it in November of 07' by an article from Mike Adams that you can also download for free here...

life extension puts out a great list of top ten supplements, it should be on their website check it out!
edit: i'll save you the trouble, here it is. lots of good info here, but its really long
(obviously if they suggest their own brand, just consider the category itself instead)

It's great to see threads like this! Here is what I've been taking lately:
NSI FlavenZym systemic enzymes
PB8 Probitics
OptiMSM
L-Optizinc
Plant-based digestive enzymes
Unrefined Flax Seed Oil
Country Life Omega-3
Source Naturals Life Force Multi
Carlson Vitamin D 1000IU
Olive Leaf Extract
NSI Yeast Clean (This + Olive Leaf to deal with candida)
Boku Superfood
Chlorella
Being a poor college student, the Boku and chlorella have really helped when my diet is lacking in greens. Those two are life savers!
All the discussion on RPN Gut Health has really intrigued me. I've been using PB8 because it was recommended to me, but when I run out I'm going to buy a bottle of Gut Health.
And if anyone else has any experience with taking Astaxanthin, please share! I'm interested in trying it out.

I just started taking bio-mend from AN, looking into some of the other essentials from AN and others as well. Switching from orange Triad to MHP-Activate, and then some Multi-Joint by sportspharma. Very interested in a few others like Primal Defense, Ubiquinal, Now's odorless Garlic and others. Need a replacement for Gut Health as well, i have seen Bio-beads mentioned
Would love anyone's feedback, great threadTop Supps

Just some suggestions from what you are looking for:
If you're going to go with a multivitamin, I would suggest MST MVP365
I would absolutely suggest Primal Defense Ultra, this will take care of all your probiotic needs
For odorless garlic I would suggest any of the Kyolic formulas, I used the regular one which is the Formula 100
For Ubiquinol I would suggest any reputable brand who uses the Kaneka QH patented reduced CoQ10 formula, I suggest LEF or NOW.*~=Gator Nation=~*

Thanks, MVP 365 was my other choice(outside of Ortho-Core little pricey) it was between those two, saw a great read on Multi's a few days ago, and how the Pak and others use formulations that don't really live up to the hype.
SIDE NOTE: Congrats on winning the National Championship game, and that is hard for me to say since i am a diehard Georgia BULLDAWG, but way to show the world again what the SEC is all about.Last edited by kincaid82; 01-19-2009 at 08:47 AM.

Found this on ImmInst, maybe some people can chime in with their thoughts on here, I'll post the protocol and the link:
The HDL Booster dietary supplement used in the study (two capsules twice daily) consisted of: vitamins C, E, B6, B12, niacin (low dose, 40 mg/day), and folic acid; minerals magnesium and selenium; and supplements coenzyme Q10, policosanol, L-carnitine, L-arginine, N-acetylcysteine, alpha lipoic acid, tocotrienols, soy isoflavones, taurine, and the herbal extracts of hawthorn (Crategus oxyacantha) berry, garlic (Allium sativum), grape (Vitis vinifera) seed extract, and grape (Vitis vinifera) skin extract.
Niacin has the most evidence to support increasing HDL. You didnt mention why you cant take it. If it has to do with the flushing there are ways to mitigate that. I know it was a pain to get thru the flushing period, but Im up to 500mg 2x per day now without any flushing effects.*~=Gator Nation=~*

NOW & NSI source their astaxanthin from a company called Cyanotech in Hawaii who makes BioAstin.
http://www.cyanotech.com/bioastin.html
You're fine with those brands although I use the NOW because the price is hard to beat. Fool around with your dose, and give the supplement time to work in your system. It builds up in muscle tissue after a number of months so you'll have free radical fighting anti-oxidants available directly at the cellular level.

I know neither EPA nor DHA are essential, I was speaking purely in terms of supplementation preference of EPA over DHA. From the research I've done after beginning this thread I read that EPA is beneficial to the immune system rather than detrimental.
I have seen a few recommendations to stay away from ibedenone until more is known about it's efficacy as compared to Ubiquinol. I don't put much emphasis on the recommendation of a few doctors when there are several who say the exact opposite, but I just found that to be interesting.
Do you have personal experience with ibedenone? I'd be interested in trying it sometime, I don't have the most experience with nootropics so if you could elaborate on how you "feel" different when using ibedenone over ubiquinol I would appreciate it, thanks!*~=Gator Nation=~*
