I am actually using :
SNS Liver Assist
Hawthorn Berry
Celery Seed
Grade Seed
Green tea
Planning to add :
Odorless Garlic
Vitamin C
UbiquinolI do not work for any supplement company, I am on bb.com to share feedback on supplements and to try to help people with the little knowledge I have. **Please note this**

Does anyone use Glutamine predominantly for immune support function. I think this may be the only benefit to glutamine but still important.

I would recommend any one of the Kyolic formulations of Garlic. Garlic supplements as a whole are inexpensive, so I would definitely get a solid brand.
Wow, very nice stack. I know a lot of these threads die out, I actually made one before myself. It's my hope we can get a few interested people in here and discuss overall health related topics/supplements as they arise.
As for the lithium orotate, what is your experience? I've heard conflicting views about the efficacy and safety of such a supplement but haven't heard many first hand impressions.
bd= big deal?
Yes. The days of me buying into the newest hyped product are far gone. I feel much better if I'm taking a solid regimen of supplements to augment my overall health and well being.*~=Gator Nation=~*

Probiotics can offer a wide range of benefits, most notably they aid in digestion, reduce gas, and have purported positive effects on the immune system. I have yet to get sick since starting probiotics as well as some additional supplements that I take in the winter. Yes, I know this is not conclusive evidence, but it is very promising for me as I always used to get one sinus infection sometime in November or December.
If you want to give them a try, I would suggest starting with Gut Health and see how you respond. Gut Health is a single strain probiotic with a lot of great anecdotal feedback and it's pretty inexpensive.*~=Gator Nation=~*

Technically, neither are essential as they can both be synthesized from ALA(alpha linolenic acid, not lipoic). ALA may have issues of it's own and of course you have to rely on conversion which may not allow one to achieve desired levels. So, it's still prudent to supplement with both EPA and DHA. Wish I had a scanner so I could attach a pic of this conversion chart. Trying to type it out just doesn't do it any justice but here goes:
ALA(delta-6-desaturase)->steridonic acid(elongase)->eicosatetraenoic acid(delta-5-desaturase)->eicosapentaenoic acid/EPA<->DHA
And then (lypoxygenase)->LBT5 or (cyclo-oxygenase)->PGE3. Conversion enzymes can be affected by trans fatty acids(-), mg(+), zn(+), b vitamins(+), alcohol(-). + is a postive correlation and - a negative one.
I thought there was perhaps another reason to avoid DHA. There is a rat study that seems to indicate that (excessively) high DHA diets can lead to reduced lifespan. Accordinlgy to my poorly written shorthand it appears there is an increased exposure to oxidation. Of course this will be applicable to (probably) all PUFAs which is evidenced by the fact that they can all go rancid(oxidation).
Appears to be equally effective if not moreseo. More effective at a comparative dose and it does not act as a pro-ox under hypoxic states. I believe it's nootropic effects are due to it's ability to pass the blood brain barrier but that's in another set of notes. And cheaper too, hence my favoritism.
I have to agree. Even adhereing to the basic ACES + b-complex + mineral complex will likely result in some dramatic changes. The latter two alone will probably suffice and alone can help reduce blood pressure, improve lipid profile, etc. No real need for hawthorne, celery seed, c12 peptide, red yeast rice, garlic, etc to regulate bp or lipids when the aforementioned will easily suffice. Of course they may have additional benefits warranting their use though.Last edited by wanderlei; 01-17-2009 at 03:54 PM.
Yes, there is indeed a deeper component to it all.

Unfortunately panicking about your health can get you in a hell of a lot of trouble as well. A family member looked into lithium and was recommended to stay away from it due to potential for ototoxicity.

No problem, man! I actually am getting a full panel blood test done in a couple of weeks, so it'll be interesting to find out whether or not my supplementation has helped... Although, even if it has, I have no prior blood tests to compare the results to. Had I had not missed my appointment last Monday, I would have already gotten the blood tests done... ;(, but now I must wait...
Any who, I'll add a few more in... NA-RALA and Alaska Wild Blueberry (I plan on trying this product from AuroraBlue within the next month), although, it has been added in the newer formulation of LEF Blueberry product and the cocoa, pomegranate, and blueberry product...

Another product I kind of liked was this stuff called Epicor! Anytime my nose would get congested, that stuff would completely knock it out (didn't matter if I took the cap with food or without).... However, I stopped taking it because I swear it may have had an adverse effect on my sex drive... I'm not entirely sure, though, so I guess I'll try it out again at some point, considering I bought a large bottle of it awhile back (150 cap)...Last edited by lbarber4; 01-17-2009 at 05:11 PM.
